Reading a TL Model Number
Hey is there anyway to decrypt the model numbers on the TL to find out if it is a manual or an automatic and weither it has a certain color or not.
My parents are getting me a TL very soon, but the problem is that there arnt any TL dealers in LA that have a Black/Camel/6MT... well atleast I dont think they do.
I have been going to all these dealer websites, and most dont tell me whether it is a manual or an automatic, and what interior it has, or when i do find a site that tells me what the transmission is, i have to email them to find out what color it is... In my mind I think it is absolutly rediculous, and they just want you to call them, and then sucker you into buying from their lot.
Here is a model number for an Auto: UA6624JW
I know that the A in the model number does not mean Auto because I have seen 6MT's with the A in the model number.
Thanks for your help

Try search. There are numerous threads on deciphering techniques.
Not sure if this one will do it for you, because you didn't provide the full VIN.

thanks well what i gave you was not the VIN by Acura's Model number for the Car... I did manage to find out if the car had navi/summer tires/transmission. I tried that VIN search and all it said was that that particular car had no previous crash history (i guess thats a good thing)
6MT
UA6554JW
5AT
UA6624JW
6MT-S
UA6564JW
6MT-NAV
UA6554KW
5AT-NAV
UA6624KW
6MT-NAVS
UA6564KW
I will look around and maybe see if this VIN has secrets that can be found
Oh btw I found this place in Arizona that has two of the the same car I want except that it is Auto, but the vins dont look completly similar (which dosnt suprise me since each car would prb have to have their own number)
