so instead of having a big chunk of metal, you have a big chunk of metal in a flashy cover...

THAT IS FOR BASE MODELS !!!

for Type S Models and 6MT models, Acura already put a 'cover' on the big chunk of metal....I would just recommend, sanding, painting, decal...

if you live in a place where you see snow/ICE/salt, I would recommend the G2 caliper paint kit...its thicker and hence does not peel off or chip off....I will be doing this myself later this year....tried it on the wifey's Lexus and its on there, on there !!

best part, the whole deal wont cost you more than 30 bucks....
Looks great excited to do mine next week

I actually saw these on a RDX for the first time yesterday. I had only ever sceen them on a 3g TL. Struck me as funny for some reason I kind of chuckled. These must be optional for the RDX, no? Iv seen plenty of RDX's on the road, but none w/ caliper covers.

They complement the brembos up front quite well IMO, insted of just bare calipers in the back.

One questions for you guys that have had these on the rear for a while. I see most people say to use JB Weld or an RTV silicone to secure it. For some reason I see that just being a recipe for one to fall off not far down the road. Extreme conditions like hot and cold temp changes, vibrations, wet etc etc. Using those methods has anyone lost one using either of those? I would prefer not to drill and screw into my caliper if at all possible.

Thanks,
James

James, I have mine on using JB Weld and now for about 9 months without an issue...

the only time one messed up for me, was when I was removing a wheel and the inner barrel hit the caliper (kinda hard) and it cracked the JB weld...I took it off, sanded it down and put some new jb weld on it and back on it went....

I've had mines installed for 2 years now using the RTV Silicon, haven't had any issues with them coming off or being loose. All four of mines are still secure. I live in Colorado, so its been through 2 winters now, exposed to snow and freezing temps.

I used the Black RTV as well. Mine have made it through 2 New England winters and they are still solid.

That's the one. I don't recall if I used the hi-temp version or not, but that will do.

I got mine from dch automotive parts. It's a honda/Acura dealer out in California I think. They always have great service and an easy website to order from. They were cheaper than one of the vendors above even after the 5% discount.

Silicone RTV has not failed me yet, and it's been a couple years.
Although I ended up opting for the matching look rear single pot ebay caliper covers.

Can I still use the "ACURAZINE" 5% off for my order? Also, can I pick my order up because I literally work 10-15 mins away from Del Ray. I rather save $8-10 shipping.

Yes, you can use your ACURAZINE discount and save on shipping. In the comment section of the shopping cart, type 'ACURAZINE - WILL PICK-UP, DO NOT CHARGE FREIGHT.' We will deduct 5% off the parts subtotal and the shipping/handling fees prior to processing your credit card.
