Is the rattling gone with TL2005?

nedtlnow,
What rattle are you talking about?
Some ppl ever said that Acura reps have confirmed that 05TL may successfully get rid of the drivertain vibration at low RPM (high gear). R u talking about this or something else?
Who else test-drive 05TL? Never heard of it.

I believe he's asking if the 2005 TL will have fewer interior rattle issues than the 2004 model....as some of us have experienced some interior rattles with the doors, instrument panel, center console, front and rear speakers, rear parcel shelf, etc. we are hopeful that Acura has perhaps taken some steps with the 2005 model to eliminate or decrease chance of these and other interior rattles....history shows that 2nd year models generally improve in terms of problem areas compared to first year models.

all cars have rattles, doesn'tr matter how much the car costs, or where its made, when you drive it for a while, or go over some bumps, things always shimmy out of place. THere's nothing you can do. Go into every car forum out there and you'll hear about people complaing their car has rattles.

Hoping it's better...
I've been lurking here for a couple of months (doing my research). I'm seriously considering a new '05 TL. I can only hope that the rattle issues are as few as my '97 RL that I'm currently driving. This car is as solid as many new cars you drive off the lot today. All the little interior gadgets still work perfectly and no rattles to speak of.
I'm having a tough time justifying the '05 TL to the wife with a car that still so nice (she drives an '00 TL) . Sorry for the rambling. I just wanted to put in my two cents that Acura can build a car that after 7 years is still rattle-free.

My new 2004 TL is delightfully rattle-free as is my 1998 Cl with 145k miles on it.
Both made in Ohio, I might add.
I wouldn't not buy the car simply because a few pople have reports some.

Take a look at this poll. The "majority" has rattles. Interesting.

I guess its just one of the downfalls of getting a car the first year of a new style. I say just dynamat the hell out of it, then, not only will you get rid of rattles, but you'll hear less road noise as well.

OK, this rattle crap has me as down as anyone. I was EXTATIC when I bought the TL (August 6 delivery, SN 66xxx.) I too had noticed the "rattle" threads, and I (stupidly) hoped that Acura would figure this stuff out by the time I bought mine. The point is, they haven't, and I have noticed the service people seem to hold their breath every time I call with a new complaint. The car is going in on Wednesday, I am going to see how well they do correcting my window "pops", my storage cover "shakes", my mis-shapen exterior trim piece, and now my loud and obnoxious sunshade for the sunroof. Yes, this flimsy piece of engineering sounds like a mouthfull of poprocks, and it seems to be coming from the handle area. Our last Saab had none of these issues, at at 7 years was tighter inside when traded. Frustrated? Yes. I love the car, and I am willing to work at getting these items fixed ("1st model year..."). BUT, if they cannot, I will never purchase an Acura again. I now understand how Acura can offer the TL at such a reasonable price. Quality costs $$$, and it seems they saved money where they could, in areas that we consumers aren't supposed to see or notice.
By the way, I appreciate those of you who have engineered your own fixes for these (admittidly cosmetic) issues. Keep up the good work, and I will do the same if I strike upon any new and helpful ideas. sigh.

U get what u pay for. Value=cut corners. Hell Acura doesn't even build all the techno features in the TL, bluetooth, etc. They build the car and well, like Benz and BMW and Infiniti with the QX4, American made luxury cars are built sub-par.

1Sicklex,
Dont think that the Lexus brand is vastly superior with repect to rattles. My friends IS300 is a rattle box, and IMHO, built like crap. But if it makes you feel better, Lexus' are the only rattle free brand.
BTW, my late build 04 has NO RATTLES. It seems that as the build dates get higher, problems are being addressed. Dont forget these are first year models, however, that are bound to have minor issues.

Well the thing is, rattles usually don't come from the factory, they come from driving the car for a while, the natural vibration of the road and bumps you hit knock things out fo place cuasing rattles.

Unfortunately, in my case the rattles started as soon as I drove the car from the lot (Vin 68xxx). I now have 150 miles registered and hear a tinny sounding rattle in the shifter area or nav/radio, a rattle in the right side of the dashboard and the infamous "rear deck" rattle.
Since my car was built in August, I'm not sure how the '05s will be any different.

I don't have any rattles and my car was purchased in March. I've been carefull driving on rough roads, avoid potholes, railroad crossings, and generally drive around rough areas or the road when possible. I really think this has more to do with rattles than the car itself. I might have gotten a well assembled car, but I'm on my 3rd TL, and none had rattles.
