Rattle in Map Light/Homelink console
My two-week old TL has a rather loud rattle that appears to be coming from the overhead fixture that houses the map/dome lights and the homelink transciever. The rattle is very loud on rough roads and seems to disappear on smooth roads. It also disappears if I press on the outer cover.
I'm taking it to the dealer on Monday but I figured I'd check to see if anyone else is having the same issue.
Thanks,
Plato

It could be the known sunroof wind deflector rattle... Open the sunroof shade and stick your fingers into the forward slot between the headliner and glass. Place pressure on the wind deflector to see if rattle stops. If so, a strip of one inch wide velcro, the "fuzzy" side, can be adhered inside the tray where the bottom of the wind deflector rests when stowed. This fills in a minor gap and keeps the deflector from bouncing. That may be your culprit.
Other than that I haven't had any noisy issues from the maplight area/console.
Keep us posted.

Mine also had a rattle in the driver's side sunvisor itself. If you removed the visor from the latch, it stopped, but once you put it back on it'd start up agai. They replaced it for me and so far it seems to be quiet.
