Ran Over a Parking Stopper!
I feel like such a dumbass. I was parked in a lot, for some reason didn't think there were parking stoppers and decided to go straight when i was leaving. Wheels went up the stopper and the car came down LOUD. I almost sh*t myself when I heard the sound. Reversed back over it, which wasn't nearly as bad. Parked, surveyed the damage. Nothing on the outside looked damaged. Could there be some under body issues? I drove all the way home, no issues.

I did somethign similar when I was 16 with a relative's car, and it was fine. The thud might be loud but it's unlikely there's any damage. If it'll make you feel better you can go to the dealership and tell them about it and ask them to raise the car and examine if there's anything damaged. I doubt if they would charge much for such a service, might even do it for free.

It happens more than you think. The only thing that sits low on the car is the exhaust. No noise is a good thing so you should be ok.
I remember I rented a car in FL and I put the car in drive and went right over the stopper. I was over it and just kept going straight. I am glad it wasn't my car I did that to.

in my last car (toyota celica), i drove diagonally through a snow covered parking lot. surprise, there were parking islands hidden under there. i flew right over one, dragging across the whole way (prob 6' long island). woops. no damage, but it sure sounded bad and scared the crap out of me.
my brother drove forward over one once in his mazda miata. got stuck. had to pull him off of it with a truck. still no damage.
youre probably fine, its just more embarrassing than anything... did anyone see you?
i check carefully in front of my car in parking lots before i go forward out now. havent hit any more yet.

Luckily it was late and no one saw...although i'm sure if anyone was on other levels of the parking garage they heard the noise. It was so loud. I'm supposed to take my car in for an oil change and tire rotation so I will have them take a look at the under body.
I do know it happens a lot, and i'm glad that the loud noise isn't an indication of the damage

^ LOL exactly what I was thinking!
When I first saw this thread I was like wtf is a parking stopper?? I have never heard it called that before
I have seen people do this and mess up their car pretty bad so yeah I would have it checked out. If nothing is hanging off or damaged I would consider yourself VERY lucky!
No big deal...it happens.

Yeah it was pretty slow. by the time i realized what was going on i was already over the thing. I'm scheduled to get my oil changed soon, so I'm gonna have them raise it up and check to see if there was any damage...hopefully there isn't anything, i can see how this might happen quite frequently to people.

Wow. I'm actually kind of glad that I didn't know that. But now I'm glad that I do. Those dutch and their crazy inventions. Ovens, curbs.....when will it end.
Back on Topic....Did this in my 1993 Firebird and it's easier than you think. You can be over it before you realize. No damage to it either.
