is racing a RSX worth my time

so my buddy hits me up saying his friend wants to race me. he says its a stock RSX with a manual tranny. I ask him if its a type s or not and he said he doent know. i told him either way ill have 60-100 more horsepower that him so is it really worth my time? so, what do you guys think?

not sure how tl-s compares tot he cl-s, but I bet the CL is barely faster. I know the CL is a little faster then the rsx-s. There is a race between an rsx-s and cl-s both stock on youtube with professional drivers.

I'de say your are even b/c the two cars on youtube were both sticks

If he doesn't know if his car is a Type-S or not he probably isn't worth racing lol

I raced my friends 03' RSX-S with raceheaders, exhaust, and intake and were pretty much dead even until 100, then I start pulling. I raced another 06' with same mods + Kpro and get raped after 100.

Its not all about horsepower either, the RSX-S is MUCH lighter than the TL, so it has a better power to weight ratio.

If you go by the numbers from various magazines, then RSX-S is as fast as your TL-S. That means if he's a base RSX, AT or MT, he will lose.

I'd say the best you can do it race from a roll, like around 10mph with you on D1. He will get raped like that. That's only if he's a type S. If not, then not worth racing just for fun cause you will rape him.

<----- TL-P owner.

i've raced a 06 RSX-S from a dig. He had CAI and i had i/h/spacers(IM&TB)

and i'd say i didn't OWN him but i've beaten him by a 3/4 of a car.

from a roll, he would kill BECAUSE rsx-s are known for their high output.

since you are TL-S, you'd have a better chance.. atleast with some mods.. i dunno

if he's a base rsx.. don't even waste your gas. not worth it. i've driven both the type-s and base rsx(MT) and you seriously feel a difference in power. both had same amount of mods.
base is

If the RSX-S is a 05-06 it will put up a better fight than the 02-04 would. Good luck!
