LT=slow. SS=fast. If it was in fact just an LT you fail.

You were even with it? I'm confused, don't almost all SUVs run like a 20 second quarter mile?

She started 1/10 of a second or a minute or an hour or a day before you? Was there an NHRA light at the intersection?

This thread is an epic failure...

No.

In fact, just about every new vehicle made these days can do better than 20 seconds.

GTX, why do you post these pointless threads? I'm sorry, but you sound like an idiot from a Civic forum =\

Read the policies, these threads and posts are to be constructive and help others out. If you want to say anything idiotic, try rambling; it's a place where you can talk about anything your heart desires.

I have no clue HOW you could have barely edged out a Trailblazer LT.

Even with a horrific launch, you should have pulled much harder.

Wow, just wow. The only SUV I've raced was an Escalade (from a 50roll and it got the jump, but I walked it easily after 65mph) but seriously why waste your time? If you were dead even with it, then yeah you prob need a tune up.

They actually were pretty "fast" (for an SUV) when they came out in '01. Just looked at an '02 Motor Trend in which they tested a bunch of SUV's and the TB and Envoy were tested at 8.2 to sixty and 16.0 @ 88 mph. In fact, only the Mercedes ML whatever was quicker.

But if a new TL can barely hang with one, something is very wrong.

There are many, many normal cars and SUVs that run within half a second of what the TL runs. All it takes is for the other car to get the jump and it's hell to catch them.

Umm the trailblazer has more then 320hp, and has alot more torque. And weighs 300 to 400 pounds more then a RL. And the RL is just as fast as the TL. U guys are starting to act like bmw guys saying ohh we can beat any one.

I'd love to know your sources for your crazy misinformation. Trailblazer = 4600-5000 lbs....more like 600-1000 lbs more than an RL. And only the SS has more than 320 hp/tq. You said you ran the LT.

to the OP: If you raced an SS then the reaction on the thread would be different. The Trailblazer is about 1000lbs heavier than a RL. The RL WILL beat any A/T TL.

I know since you have an RL you would like to believe that however the Acura RL is slower than a 04+ TL Auto and its slower than a stock 03-07 Accord V6 5at. Even with 290HP your 4000lbs RL just doesn't have the power to beat those vehicles plus your AWD drivetrain loss hurts your top end. Now the 3.7L RL will get a nice Torque boost for low-end which it despretly needed. Now the car needs 330HP just to get its porky self moving in the high end. Its slow for a luxury car in its class.

http://www.dragtimes.com/Acura-RL-Timeslip-4581.html

Won't beat a TL running a 15.3!

I think it's too close to call. C&D got high 14's @ 95mph from an RL, although others have it at low 15's @ 92-93. These numbers are right in line with a base automatic TL. It won't keep up with a 6 spd base or either Type-S, but against a 5AT TL, it's probably going to be close.

Car and driver got a 15.1@95MPH for the 3.5L RL which is a high MPH for the RL. The guy on dragtimes got a 15.3@92.6(real world time). What was interesting to me was to see a 2.4 60ft time for the RL. I didn't realize how bad the RL bogs off the line due to AWD. This would be a much quicker car in RWD form. The 5AT TL pulls off 2.3 60fts so it seems the TL would be quicker off the line and hold its position through the 1/4 mile since most stock 5AT TL's run 14.9 or so. Close race but the TL is a little quicker in the top end since it traps higher than 92.6MPH. I would love to race a RL!

This is a quote from C&D,

"after 40,000 miles, and it had gotten a tick slower over time. Its 0-to-60 run went from 6.3 to 6.4 seconds, and the quarter-mile pace went from 14.8 to 14.9 seconds at 95 mph"

Acura needs more power for the RL. high 14's and low 15's isn't really cutting it for a 40,000+ luxury sedan.

I will admit the RL is a dog from 0-60 but after that it will beat the TL 5 A/T def. not the 6 M/T. I dont believe in mag racing. I had a 04 TL also and after 60 that is when the RL gets really strong. I reached 130 in the RL with ease. My old TL got me to 130 slower than the RL.

I also had the pleasure to race a friend who had a 05 TL A/T and had the pleasure in showing him who is the boss

sorry to thread hijack, just had to defend the RL

Come to AZ any time. You can check out my dual exhaust while I am beating you down. I am modded as well.

Here is a RL with I/E/P going from 0-90MPH. If this is what you have for me then you have no chance lol.
