Raced A Modified HatchBack

Setting: Flammingo Road, Open Road, Around 7 At Night
Car: 1999 Acura 3.2 TL ( Stock )
199? Civic Hatchback ( Modified, Exhaust, Headers, Flywheel, Clutch, Exhaust, ECU )

At a red light behind this Civic, the paintjob was horrible but thought it was a ricer. Didn't have any attentions to it, untill light turned green and he speeded off, catched up next to him around 40 MPH, and we both saw each other, got head to head, Im holding 2nd Gear, and we gunned it. He was staying with me at all times, untill I didnt almost redline 3rd, where by then he was by the rear bumper. Did 110 but shut it down, didnt want to take no more the risk I already token. Overall, I won by half car length. I gave him props and we both pulled over on the side, and discussed the whole race. His hatchback was quick, and the first that I enjoyed racing. Mad props

Damn..I wonder what he had. Sounds like atleast a GSR swap a normal B16 couldn't do that without forced induction.

Well I did have a talk with him when we pulled over on the side...

He said he got a SHOC, Exhaust, Pulley, ECU, Intake, Clutch, Flywheel and Headers If Im Not Mistaken. If you look at it though, the weight does put a BIG difference. He's alot lighter than I am. He also claimed, SI aren't even a worth of a race, due to the fact he got them too. Quick Civic.

those things are light. I just can't imagine myself doing 100+MPH in small cars.

1) hitting 100MPH is one
2) being stable at 100MPH is another matter.

good race, I usually never take race beyond 80MPH....

if he had a GSR swap he would have proably won. my friend has a B16 civic lightly built and he puts about a car on me.

A GS-R swapped hatch would walk all over a stock '99. Most likely a modded D15.

A GS-R swapped hatch with mods lost to me by approximately 3 carlengths by 95-100 mph, and my car has basically all the bolt-on's except for exhaust.
