Got a call from the dealer. And got a quote for '04 TL 6MT, w/Navi, A-spec, wheel locks, trunk tray, all weather mats, and car cover.

He quoted me $38,200. And about $1,200 for extended warrenty (I forgot to ask when getting the quote so its not included). I think this is a good price, but I want to get all that, including the warrenty for $37,000.

Do you think the dealer could knock off $1,200 more, and throw in the warrenty? The salesman said that they are trying to have big numbers in April and May in order to have more clout w/ Acura in the fall and get more cars. I am not in a rush to get this car, and the salesman knows this, I think that might aid in me getting a Great price now since I'm not afraid to walk.

 

Got an 04 TL with Navigation this week for 500 over invoice. 31,485 plus the 500 plus the 450 dealer fee for about 32,500 plus the trunk mat kicked in... Yes Im sure yes it has navi yes there was a ton of them on the lot yes i made these guys wait a good six weeks. They normally prey on impulse buys get you to demo the car fall in love and then buy. All my salesmen said"were not discounting, Honda says no" blah blah blah. Within 3 weeks of not stopping in the dealership and just putting them off on the phone they suddenly became very aggressive for the sale... If you need a conection down here in FL and have it shipped to you in AL for about 500 let me know Ill tell you the dealers I used

I stopped at the stealership after lunch, and talked to the salesman and made it clear that I'm in no rush to buy the car and when I do buy the car it probably will be at another dealership, in another state(since I am moving to FL in Sept.). I said that in order for him to make the sale they need to come down 2-3 thousand, and I will buy it immediately. The sales manager came over and said "I am rethinking that quote we gave you yesterday, and think it needs to be higher since 6MT, Navi, Anthracite and Ebony is so hard to get. We willl have to order it from the factory or ship it from California." It was all I could do not to laugh in his face, raise the quote? HAHA, you're not pressuring me that way. So I shook the salesman's hand said, "give me a call when you guys are ready to make a sell." And I walked out. I felt so proud that I didn't cave, and I am hoping he calls by the end of the week, if not, no skin off my nose, I'll buy somewhere else on some other day.

Leo: Who did you end up buying from, I am moving to Daytona in Sept. and could easily pick it up then.

 

I'm really close to taking the plunge. I've only test driven the TL once. Going back for a second test to make sure I can live with the seats. Love everything else about the car. Haven't talked price yet. I'm in Pembroke Pines. Which dealer did you work with? Was it Rick Case Acura? Appreciate the input!

Leostaats, do you think your dealer would be willing to SHIP the car to California? I'd be interested to buy if they were willing to ship it out to California where I live. It's just soo hard to get a deal over here. Best I could find is $700 off MSRP and my car isn't coming until June/July!! That's at least another 12 weeks+. Anyways, if you could help me, that would be great cause seems like you got a great deal! I am looking for an Anthracite/Ebony/Nav/Auto.
