Quick price check question for a Type S

There was this NBP 08 CPO TL Type S. It had around 29k miles for about $28k. I think it came out to like just under $30k after taxes and all that good stuff. Just wanted to know if that was a good deal or not? I think he was pretty firm on the price. Thanks.

6k?!?!?! Are you serious? I would've bought 7 TLs for every day of the week. I'm in the North Eastern area.

See that was the price I had in mind. I am still kind of regretting not buying it though.

$28k seems pretty normal to me.

KBB lists @ $28.6k

I paid 28k out the door for mine with 36k miles. I think it was about 25k before taxes/licensing. I was in the Sacramento, CA area at the time.

28K for a 08TLS; I would rather get a 2010 or 2011 TL. I got my 08TLS-6MT for 19K with 74k on it, but best of luck to you.

I bought my 08 TL Type S (NBP) with 22k miles from a dealer for $25700 and came out to $28k out the door. I'm from CA and had to travel to Idaho but knocked it all out in one day.

Also, in my area SF Bay Area most dealers and private sales had 40-50k miles and were asking $2k more, so traveling out of state helped in the mileage and options and condition I was looking for. I was willing to travel anywhere in the west coast that I can knock out in one day. Flight out early morning, and get back home before midnight. Easy to do and gives you more options to have.

Type S is not that super rare, you just have to keep your eye open for one that in good condition, I personally won't pay $28k for a TL-S, with additional $8K I would able to get a E92 M3 sedan which can easily out perform TL-S, and no I refuse to pay $15k + for a high mileage Type S. I don't care how rare it is, I am not paying $16k for a 127k miles Type S. I test drove a 08 Type S with 86k miles and they asking for $19,995 now $18,995, they said they can lower the price down to $18.5 and they will negotiate from there, I told them that they asking too much for a such a high mileage vehicle, the sale manager told me "You do know this Type S is rare right?" I replied "Yes, I do know that and it gona a problem for you since not too many people know about this car therefore they might want to stay away from it". I told them if you are serious about selling the car then my price would be $17k, he took my phone # down and I said "please call me when you don't sell this Type S". The car still listing on Auto trader now here is the link.

If I ever spend $16k or more on a car I expect it won't need works any time soon, I spend that much for a car that I can enjoy not to deal with any problem such as fluid leaking, trany shot, engine need to be replaced. Why I have to spend that much and deal with all kind of problem? instead I can go out and buy a used car around $6k if I can deal with problems.

All your points are very valid and reasonable. It all comes down to what you are personally looking for. These Vtec engines and just Hondas in general are rock solid machines known to last well over 200k miles so buying a TL that has over 100k miles was not a big deal to me. If I was tight on cash, I would have made a more responsible decision and went with a car that I *know* is not going to have any substantial problems. I *expect* that my TL will not have any problems in the near future due to Honda's history and nearly everyone that I have ever known to have a Honda whether it be online or my friends/family has had a great car on their hands with no problems.

Would I buy a domestic car with 100k+ miles? Hell no. Hyundai? Hell no. Audi? Hell no. Nissan? Nope.

I paid $26k for my 2008 KBP TL-S with 24,700 miles in November of 2010. Mine was CPO as well. I think your price is a little high.
