A quick hello

Glad I came across this forum - that's all I have to say.

It's clear that this place is the premier Acura forum on the web, there can be no others.

Nevertheless, I have just recently fallen in love with the TL.

I don't have the change to drop on a new one, not with expecting a little one here in a few months - and the measly regional airline pilot paycheck I see every two weeks, but nevertheless - I am shopping around for a 3G TL. Preferably an 04 to 06 with less than 50k miles on it. Suppose I can't be too picky, but whatever.

But anyway - Hello!

Welcome. When shopping for your TL, try to definately pick one up with the Navigation system. Because you are looking at pre-owned, the Nav won't be that much more, and It is worth it!! Trust me. Anyway good luck with your purchase.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

I've done a search, but didn't really find anything that really met what I was looking for.

Does anyone know of a buyer's guy for the 04 thru 06 TL's? Certain things I need to keep an eye out for, especially when purchasing from a dealership. I did read about the extended warranty, etc and the like.

I said buyer's guy up top, but obviously meant buyers guide. Doh!

Thanks! Got the query, much appreciated.

Which way would you guys say is best? Buying it used from just any old car dealership (in my local area they tend to be substantially lower on prices, along with overall less mileage on the vehicle), or a specific Honda/Acura dealership?

Also what was the standard warrenty provided on 04/05/06 TL's? 6 year/50,000?

If you get a certified preown Acura it comes with the 100k mile warranty. Something to consider.

Does the 100k warranty cover the issues with the automatic transmission that it seems the 3Gs have been having?

IMHO, with a lil one coming, you should bite the bullet & get a new one since it's more reliable as you never know how the previous owner drived ....

Good luck with your search & purchase ...

I'd love to. . .but honestly - the new ones are way out of my price range.

We already have one sedan - an 02 Camry which is my wifes, but I'm just pretty much tired of my 99 Civic EX 2 door.

I'm certainly going to try to be very selective in how I pick out a TL. Certified Pre-Owned with less than 50k miles is where I'm now looking at.
