questions for people who bought tl brand new
did you get door moldings? How much did you pay? Do you suggest I purchase after or does it make a difference? What about extended warranty? About how much did you pay for it?
And....the ipod adapter. How much did you pay? Thanks!

i want the acura care warranty. I paid like 900 for it when I got my accord 10 years ago. I think in the long run (after having to have both window channels and abs and master cylinder repaired, among other random things) it was worth it. Normally, I don't think extended warranties are worth it. Any takers on the pod?

I got it since on my truck I had before I had two large door dings. Now I was against the BSM until I saw it in person at the dealer. My logic is I would rather pay for the replacement of the BSM instead of having to fix any future dings and repaint the door. but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I bought my car 2 weeks ago and at the time thought I wanted the BSMs. But in looking at them(narrow) and their location(low), I doubt that they would work that well in typical situations where you're parked next to a truck/suv. I've resigned myself to parking in preventive ways instead- farther out, next to handicap spots, curbs, putting edge-guards on our other car, etc.
It was strange that my dealer wasn't even plugging the BSMs and said that only 1% of the TL buyers get them. They didn't carry them in stock even and would have needed to order. I guess if you want to set your car off from all the others, go for it.

The molding is a waste of money, the doors are already made of high tensil steel that is 15% stronger with 50% better deform resistance, the doors where engineered to resist dings and dents.

My dealer failed to charge me for the BSM when they installed the complete A-Spec kit. I'm trying to decide how much longer I will keep my TL, which will determine if I purchase the extended warranty.

I thought I wanted BSM's when I bought my TL 2 months ago. Glad I didn't get them b/c they do make the TL uglier IMO. Too busy and takes away from the nice line that goes through the door handles.

Yea right... tell that to the ding dead center in my drivers door. Probably $ 300-400 repair. Still. not sure the moulding would have helped. My parking choice was busy, narrow spot or corner in the back in the real dark in high theft area.
For the extended warranty do a search. Your first decision point is before you have 6000 miles. You can probably beat the dealers price on factory warranty by a few hundred.
