Question: For those with the Keyhole Cover or "modification"

For those of you with the Cover to remove the Door Lock on the drivers side door.

How do you expect to get into your car if the battery goes dead on your remote?

You can pretty easily get the cover off with another key. (I do agree it is something to think about ahead of time)

ya, it's just a little clip that holds it on, popping it off in the event of a dead battery would be quite easy with the use of a key or even a ball point pen. I think for the astetic gains it's definatly worth it.

Well, I have an aftermarket alarm anyways, so even if the key hole was there I wouldn't be able to get into without the horn blasting. If i ran out of battery I guess I'm SOL, but my Viper Key fob does have a batt indicator on it so i guess i gotta watch out for that.

I have the cover and have actually had the car battery die on me. I just popped off the cover, got in the car, jumped the battery, popped the cover back on and was on my way to the dealer to get the battery issue checked out.
It took about 10 seconds to pop the cover off.

The passenger side door doesn't have a keyhole straight from the factory. The keyhole is only on the driver's side door.

They are easily stolen to supply this purpose. This happened to me last summer--the thief took the rear passenger cover, presumably for this mod. I don't think it popped off on its own.

it never happened to me in my last TL that I had for almost 3 years. the install was so easy that I'm not worried about it no matter what.
the keyhole was a distraction. I always notice them on other cars, especially the Quatroporte

Sorry, I'm only an idiot when I'm awake. For some reason I thought it was an insert that was placed in the keyhole opening, not just taking an identical piece like the one on the back door! Duh!

Thanks for the link. Just ordered one.

so that one for the White Diamond Pearl, is that the driver side, rear passenger door cover? I read somewhere its best to order the one behind the driver to make it look even (or does it really matter?)

You are correct, sir. Order the driver side rear cover. The fit is universal and the p/n's listed above are accurate. You can also go to the acura site and find the part no's in the exploded view of the door hardware. Well, I keep getting "Image not available" on the site now. Bummer.
