Question regarding clear bra

Does the adhesive have any adverse effect on your paint/clear coat in extreme temperatures? Also, if you already have some rock chips when you apply the clear bra, when you take it off, does it peel paint off too?

no it does not, I have had it installed for 6 months now and nothing, its great. I just got my oil changed and when I took it to the dealer they were surprised of how good it looks.

I don't know about the paint peeling since I just got my car recently.

Make sure you do not buy these kits on eBay. Make sure to go to a place that professionally installs them!!!!!!

i doubt it would peal the paint ... they would probably heat it up a lot so it would be very ez to remove before pulling it off ...

A couple months ago I removed the self installed clear bra on my 7 year old Passat prior to selling it - was tough to pull off but no damage to the underlying paint. Amazing how many marks and gouges were on the bra, but the paint was pristine. I installed the bra a couple days after buying the Passat. Hope the bra on the TL works as well. Recommend the guy on eBay - chipman or something like that.

Sounds good. Thanks for the info. Just curious, what are you guys paying for the complete clear bra (front fascia, partial hood, mirrors? etc)?

If you install it yourself around $80 without the bumper, maybe $175 if you include the bumper. The TL hood is pretty tough, but I was pleased with the results. The bumper looks really hard to do. The lighter colors, like silver or white, are more forgiving if you make small mistakes.

$600 installed, for full front bumper, headlights, fog lights, hood, fenders, and side mirrors. Make sure it is 3m take also! Thats the best!

Chipgardman sold me a great product on ebay. I installed it myself and it came out really good IMO, I made a thread on here but no one seemed too interested

What brand was your film? Or is "chip guard" a brand? I haven't heard any negative feedback regarding the 3M film.

When I peeled the 3M film off my 7 year old Passat it was still clear. Chipgardman does use 3M.

clearbra is great..i had it on my TSX and now on my TL-S(both white)
it's a bit pricey but worth it...mine comes with a lifetime warranty..the only thing it doesn't cover is if you get into an accident...
clay bar & wax it like you would the rest of the car...

$600 professionally installed. Worth every penny. On a DMM from most distances and angles you can't even see it.
