Question about RPM at 80 mph

Last few days I drove my sister's 04 tl AT. Is it normal for a tl to get about 2200 rpm at 80mph? It didn't feel sluggish nor underpowered but it was kinda weird.

Holy shit, you waited 6 years before posting for the first time

By the way, 2200 RPM sounds about right for 80 MPH.

Many cars would be at 3000+ rpm at that speed.

80 MPH = 5000 RPM ....

.... in 3rd gear.

2200 sounds about right for 5th in the 5AT.

No it won't. Gear ratio's are not the same.

I compared my 5AT 70 mph cruise RPM's in 5th to mmade22 and his 6MT ran at somewhat higher RPM in 6th.

So, jack the ex-cynic, 80 at 2200 RPM for the auto and 2750 for the 6MT sounds about right.
