question about deck spoilers from ebay

hey guys. i just recieved the deck lip spoiler from ebay. I haven't installed it yet, but it makes the car look pretty hot just placing it on top. problem is. its being held on by double sided tape.

my question is, would this be enough to keep the spoiler on?? i'm worried about it flying off in the highway and more worried about someone just stealing it. good news is. i paid only $130 for with shipping and the paint job looks great, except it has less sparkles.

how does the dealer install it? with screws or tape?? if i do tape it, should i just add as much double sided tape as possible?? need advice before i install it. thanks

Exactly, what is the name of the seller? I have been looking for a lip spoiler for a while now and most of them are around $200+ with shipping.

Thanks!

Most likely, this isn't the OEM deck lid spoiler for that price. Not to say that it isn't a good product, but they don't offer AM or a few other colors.

ask superautobacs on ebay. i got mine from him, painted for 150 shipped. shipped it out as soon as the order was placed and it came in 4 days and lip spoiler came with so much packaging around it that it took me a whole show of family matters to remove all of it. paint was near exact, except without as many sparkles. i can vouch for him. real nice dude and will give you tracking number as soon as he ships it.

They block ebay from work, do you have an e-mail for this guy?

Thanks,

I know...I was also disappointed. I even sent them an e-mail, but they don't offer it in ABP.

He said if enough interest is shown, he might get some, so make sure you mention you want it. There's two of us now that want it. Any others please chime in.

BTW, I see you are in Schaumburg. I live in Madison, WI but I go to Schaumburg to visit friends often. Are there ever little meets or anything around you?

I have never seen any meets in the Chicago burbs. I think that would be fun though if others were interested...

Talking Just did a Buy-It-Now w/superautobacs

FINALLY! He had them listed available in NH643 - ANTHRACITE METALLIC. Just did a BIN and paid so will keep you guys posted on how it goes. Can't beat $132.94 shipped with insurance. From the comments so far on the fit and finish you just can't beat the savings over the OEM spoiler!!

Definitely keep us posted. I'm sure the fit will be perfect. I'll wait to hear how good the paint matches before purchasing one.

How did your color match? I have NBP as well. Quality good? I understand that it is not completely painted, but the exposed parts are, just the bottom where it attaches to the trunk. Is that correct? Are you happy?

Thumbs up It arrived and it's on... Review inside

Well I got my superautobac (ebay) lip spoiler today. I have to say that I am VERY impressed with the quality of this piece... I don't know what the factory one looks like fit and finish wise, but if this were handed to me as a bona-fide factory a-spec lip spoiler, I'd never think differently. The paint finish is excellent at LEAST if not better than what is on the car. There is plenty of metal flake in the paint, right in line with the car finish. There were no strange paint edges and they actually shot it underneath up to a middle section which seems to have had some plastic tabs that it sat on while being finished and painted and then are removed before shipping. I would imagine this is to be able to get that edge finished nicely. Nice touch

It comes well covered on the bottom with 3M tape, good strong stuff... Iwas nervous about mouting it and getting it wrong, so I set on the trunk multiple times to make sure the aligment was as good as possible. I was suprised to note that this lip is somewhat pliable.. almost rubber like... made installing and geting it even so much easier. I claybar'd the trunk area where the lip would mount to remove any residue, dirt, etc... and gave a quick clean with mothers showtime (my claybar lube). I figured this would give me the best possible adhesion. After that, it was peal off the plastic on the sticky and install. I started with one side... aligned how I had calculated with the protective tape on and went inch-by-inch aligning with the back lip of the trunk and the back of the lip spoiler. Once it was on, I pressed it down with some decent force and it's on there tight. I claybar'd it and will apply some wax in the next couple evenings.

More importantly here are some pics... I have to say, this thing is a NO brainer at 129 bucks shipped.

... The Transformation has begun.... A-Spec Suspension and RSB come in Thursday!!!

The color match isnt exact but its pretty close. The quality couldnt be better for the price I paid. The bottom isnt painted but its not a big deal to me as it cannot be seen.
I'm very happy and love the looks of it on my car

I just did a Buy-It-Now for another Anthracite.

TomSawyer, how long did it take for you to receive the spoiler?

It's weird. I haven't felt this excited modding my car for a long time.

I can understand that completely... I have not been this excited about a car in a long time!! I would say it took about 5 days total from when I paid to receive the spoiler. It came via UPS Ground I believe.... Not bad at all really.
