Question about "Build Date"

Hi guys, Bucky here...

New to the forum, but have been lurking for the last week or so...kinda getting nervous, thinking I may expect a life of rattles and ill handling. Hope not! Just traded in my '99 CL 3.0 with 137,000 trouble free miles. (literally, never a problem in 5 1/2 years!)

Just picked up my '04 non-Nav White Diamond/Parchment TL on Monday.... 180 miles later and lovin' it.

Argued with dealer over the tires (has EL42's) (TU2's) when negotiating, and he acted as if he never heard of a problem with them. So far, car rides nicely, not too much road noise, (does have the 1500rpm driveline groan, however).

My first question to the forum is: how do I tell the "build date" from my VIN number?

Regards,
Bucky

Hello Bucky, welcome to the board.

I dont think you can find out the build date by the VIN; however, there is a label at the driver's door where you can see that date. Hope that helps.

You can only see the month and year on the label in the door jamb. If you really need to know the exact date, only the dealer can get that information for you on their computer.
