Question about ballast bracket.

well..do i need it? it was such a pain to get to going through the resonator and all...do i really need to put it back on? does it serve any sort of purpose? perhaps shield the heat from the ballast onto the wiring below it?

i'm talking about this thing:

here is the ballast pictured WITHOUT the above bracket...will it give off a ton of heat to affect the wiring below it?

*this is from an 07/08 base.

thanks

Nothing at all. Even for those who think that its a "ground", you wrong because its aluminum anyway which isn't a ground. Its worthless. It could be part of an anti-theft design so that it makes it harder to steal the headlight.

I am not saying its for grounding, but eliminating that because its aluminum does not make any sense. aluminum conducts electricity just fine.

guys it's a heat shield, to help dissipate the heat from the ballast, that is why it is made of aluminum

That makes some sense, or a heat shield from the wire loom
