Question about 2008 3.2 transmissions

Hey guys im new here and looking to buy an acura tl 2008

Im scared with reading reviews about transmission problems throughout all years of tl

The one im looking at has 79k one owner
He has yet to do a transmission flush and he said only problem he has is when sometime he accelerates it will bump or kick into gear

Has anyone had these problems and could help lead me in the right direction
Thanks!

The transmissions on the TL were designed, or changed over to (not 100% sure) to the RL transmission. From what I've read the '07 and '08 transmissions should be fine, it's primarily the '04-'06s that have problems.

The auto trans on the 07/08 base and type s model TL is a modified version of the 2G RL trans. They are in fact reliable and have proven to be mostly trouble free.

well doesnt matter if its the most reliable transmission in the world, but if the seller says its having problems...you may want to stay away.

could be low on atf if its lags in grabbing 1st gear from a stop. or could be a dying transmission, hard to say.

Yeah, I'd keep looking honestly-there's plenty of 07/08 base tls out there that HAVE been maintained.

Agreed. If it already is having issues, why mess with it?

You will need new AT switches too. Reduce the price by several hundred to pay for that.

Don't search Google - search here on Azine - AT switches are the automatic transmission pressure switches - https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/keeping-up-maintenance-896623/

I haven't had a problem with my 08 TL. It will sometimes bump into gear when I'm driving it hard or when I let off the gas fast. I just had the AT flush and the cars performance noticably improved. I would recommmend you look for a car than does not need fixed from the start. Too many bad experiences there.

The only issue I've had on my 07 trans was the torque coverter. That was replaced under warranty. I changed the pressure switches at 70,000 miles and have the fluid drained and refilled every 2-3 oil changes to keep fresh fluid in it. Haven't had any other issues.
