I was wondering if ANY quad tip exhaust setup will fit an 04 TL base bumper, I've read that some have and some say there isn't any. I'm confused, Isn't the opening for the bumper about 6 inches? or exact measurment?

 

If you measure the opening, and compare that to the quads you are looking at, don't you have your answer?

 

But online ordering tend to not have correct measurements.

 

Ah. If I had a base and was getting exhaust, I'd probably go with atlp base like on CLtotheTLs car. But I'm just not really a fan of small quads. Get the type s a spec lip if you want quads.

This is a side-by-side comparison of the base and Type-S rear A-Spec lip.



Quads such as ATLP and XLR8 WILL NOT FIT the Base TL rear bumper or A-Spec lip. You will either have to buy smaller quad tips via eBay or a vendor, cut your existing bumper and buy a Type-S rear lip to cover the cuts, or buy a Type-S rear bumper.

 

Sorry for all the questions, but is the exhaust opening for the A-Spec rear lip the same as the base TL? because I found a dual tip that has total width of 6.38

Hahah, I actually am. I'm not very well-versed with the differences between all the nonsense. It seems to be that if the tips fit the 04-06 base without the aspec lip, they would be fine with the lip. But I figured it would be better to be sure. I know with my stock tips and aspec lip the tips kind of get lost in down in there a little.

 

When you install the A-Spec lip, you take out the trim around the exhaust tips. You gain extra width in there making it the size of the lip kit exhaust cutouts. Simply put, Yes any tip that fits the base will fit with the A-Spec since it's a little wider.

 

Yes, they'll fit just fine.
