Purchasing new TL within a week
Hi everyone
I am planning on purchasing a new Acura TL w/Navi by next weekend. I was hoping for some feedback and advise. If this is the wrong place to post, I apologize. Some of the questions may have already been asked in other posts, so bare with me, I wanted to be able to get the answers altogether. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks for everyone's help in advance.
According to Edmunds.com, the MSRP is $35,325 with an Invoice Price of $32,205. I went to see a fleet manager today. He gave me an initial invoice amount of $32,824.97. From this, he took off another $800 bring it down to $32,024.97.
To make a long story short, the final out-the-door price he quoted me including all the BS fees, charges, tax, etc... was $34,996.49. After reading many of the buying tips in here, I flat out asked him, is the price negotiable, and his response was a firm but polite NO.
The only thing extra I wanted on it is the "Protection Package": Mud (splash guards), Trunk Tray, and Locking Lug Nuts. The price he quoted was $280.
I did call another fleet manager. His bottom line price was $35,350. The protection package with the same things is $250. Not a significant difference.
I know it's over half way through the year and the price I'm paying is for a brand new 06 car, but I don't want to spend more for an '07 model and don't want to put off the purchase any longer to wait for the next year's model.
Assuming neither of the fleet managers are "playing any games" and these in fact are the final prices, can someone tell me whether this is a fair price to pay. I looked on Edmunds, and there are no rebates/incentives. The fleet manager I talked with today said there are no rebates or incentives because TLs sell well and they don't need to make those offers to get people to buy.
BTW, my test drive with the fleet manager today was awesome. We went on the freeway for the test drive. I got the check out the TL's acceleration and braking. When exited and got back on the freeway, it was a "cloverleaf" on-ramp (nearly 360 degree turn). He told me to punch the gas and told me not to worry, we won't crash. Lots of fun! Love this car already!!
Anyhow, please let me know if the price I've been quote is fair. If not, how much do you think I'm overpaying?
Before I forget, I'm planning on buying an Alabaster Silver Metallic with Quartz interior. I know my s/n is incorrect. I didn't realize that SSM was a previous model color. I noticed that some TLs have Michellin tires while other ones have Bridgestone tires. They both have the "same" ratings. What gives? Any opinions on this?
Any other suggestions/advise about options and accessories are welcomed too! Thanks for the help.

The non navi tl's have the bridgestone el42's, which are the worst tires out there, the navi ones have a variety of falken, michelin and some other brands. also be aware that there is an upgraded version of the Tl which has a bodykit, spoprt suspension, wing/lip, upgraded steering wheel, its called the A-SPEC package. this will probably run you about 5k more if it is dealer installed. Note, with the A-spec bodykit, splash gaurds cannot be put on.

What's your opinion about the price they quoted me?

You need to tell us the base price of the car plus dealer fees. TTL is not relevant because this will vary by state. The base price you quoted sounds very good but what dealer fees are added to this price.

I have the print-out from his computer with $0 in all the other fee / cost categories and the TOTAL SALE as $34,996.49.

Even if you paid a bit more for it, I have to say that the TL is worth it. Especially after my longer test drive today.
I posted more details in another post... the destination fee was all included in that final price.
