Pulling Left and Right

Perhaps I'm not used to a car this sensitive (last car was a 2000 Maxima), but I find that my TL tends to pull a fair bit to whichever side the road "leans". You know how roads are crowned or angled a little bit so that water runs off. Well, I find that my car pulls to the "downhill" side whichever side that is. I don't recall this sensation in the Maxima (or at least not to this degree). I tend to notice it more when it pulls to the left, but it definitely happens on either side. I also notice it more while braking, but again, it occurs even when maintaining a steady speed. It's not hard to keep it going straight, but I can definitely feel the pulling.

Is this just me, or is this how it is supposed to react given the tires and handling characteristics? Note, I have the 5AT with stock Turanzas.

These wider tires definately have a greater tendancy to "track" to the downside of the road or on roads where the tire tracks have worn into the road/freeway due to studs. Even worse with the 18" tires.

Mine is doing the same thing and pulling to the left on the highway especially. Driving around town i don't even notice it. I was going to bring it back to the dealership to have them look the alignment over real good.

truck ruts

another thing that will tug you around on even a flat road is the slight indentions on the road from travel by a billion cars, heavy trucks especially.

They act as guides and can lead your car around.

I found on my trip to Orlando, that I could leave the steering wheel centered and actually drove nearly 3 miles with my hands off, the ruts kept the car in my lane, around turns, and on straights, it was quite nice.

Aha, this is a feature, much like the vibrating massage seats noted on a different thread!:p Glad to know it's not just my car.

naw.. not your car.. just the effect of having some better rubber (235's) and some not so flat roads.

And those in Maxima's might not have noticed it so bad as being countered by their abundant torque-steer probs. Sorry I just couldn't refuse that one.
