Pros and Cons

Hey everyone, i currently am driving a 2004 F150 FX4 with all the works. Before i had this car i had a 2002 Lexus IS300. I went to the Acura dealer today and sat in the 2004 Tl and i loved it completely. I would like current owners who have the 6 speed manual to tell me what they like and dislike about the car. I am scheduled to test drive it on friday. Thanks, and much appreciated.

Other than the brake squeal during light braking, which I'm told by Acura Client Services that their Engineers are working to correct, I'm completely satisfied with the nice ride, smooth power, sporty six speed, excellent interior fit & finish, fantastic sound system, cool gadgets (Navi is... worth it), and GREAT exterior LOOKS!!!

My gripes, which I all consider to be minor:

1. Torque steer -- don't flame me, I consider it to be a minor annoyance
2. Suspension feel at freeway speeds (70-80 mph)
3. Brake squeal
4. Clutch feel -- took me longer than usual to find the sweet

My only complaints:
1) figuring out the precise clutch points in first/second (i.e. perfecting it) was a temporary pain in the ass;
2) staying near the speed limit (very serious here);
3) lack of tire pressure monitors ....

Haven't heard that brake squeal thing, and have otherwise been delighted; especially loving the mix of sport and lux, with gadgets too!

You can't go wrong.

Would like to put a EL42 tire around my salesman's neck (dirty with mud of course) lol. But otherwise the 6MT rocks!

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

You will find many positive reviews of the 6mt both here, and in this thread which is full of TL reviews.

Hope to hear that you are driving one soon.

Mine's a 5AT.....but I LOVE my TL.......have experienced none of the problems of earlier VINs (mine is 29xxx).....though I'm still considering different tires. I still smile every time I climb in....hope we see you joining the cult soon!
