has anyone in CT gotten their switchblade key cut and programmed? if so, where? I went to Schaller Acura in Manchester today and they told me that this could not be done, despite what I have seen on this board.

Call them back and tell them you need a key cut, don't tell them it's a special switchblade key... Bring it in and they will more than likely do it for you.

 

^yeah im pretty sure any dealer will do it for u. dunno how much they will charge, but just give a couple of them a call and see.

 

btw i dont really like the schaller dealers..ive had some un-friendly experiences at the chevy one (before it bit the dust), schaller honda has some dicks as salespeople, and schaller acura is no better. maybe people have better luck at these dealers, but i like liberty honda (hartford) and morande acura (berlin) - at acura talk to Jerry if u want help with sales or Shaun (sp?) in service...i have never gone wrong with those 2

 

HA! I have yet to find a good acura dealer in CT so this does not surprise me...

I still have not gotten my recall fixed because I HATE going to the dealer!!!!!

 

i guess ill call around to see. I called executive and they said they will only cut keys that they sell you. So no go there.

Now that I've lured all the CT folks in here, do you guys ever get together or have any CT meets?

 

haha this isnt all of us..theres a bunch of 2nd gen'ers as well.

yeah there are CT meets..sometimes they do CT,MA,RI meets as well. i know for sure the UCONN car show is a definite meet and i think some guys get together for the CCSU car show. i havent been to any yet, but im def down for the next one

OP - Have you called Acura of Avon ?

 

Executive Acura of North Haven is pretty good in my experience (it's in my town so I've only gone there). I've heard bad things about Acura of Milford.

 

Executive said they would only cut keys that they sold you, so theyre out.

I'll try Acura of Avon tomorrow.

 

second Morande, haven't been done wrong yet. went there today to show them my peeling leather driver's seat and without hesitation they're ordering a new one.
