I noticed on my 08 TL-S FOB the codes are different:
FCC ID: OUCG8D-439H-A
IC: 850G-G8D439HA
COFETE:A:VOMG8Q8-3G2 ? This one was hard to read. Someone please confirm this number. Thanks..........

I've tryed the "hold unlock and lock" button but nothing's happening.
I can set a memory for the seat and the mirror with my door's buttons

Where did you get the remote? Are you sure it is the correct p/n? I ordered my replacement online from Delray Acura. For my 04 TL it was listed as "72147-SEP-A62 TRANSMITTER ASSY., KEYLESS (MEMORY 2)". Memory 1's p/n is 72147-SEP-A52. I believe these were the p/n's for 2004-06. The FCC ID on the back of the FOB is: OUCG8D-387H-A. If you have an 04-06 and the FCC ID does not match, you may have the wrong remote.

The pushing the unlock and lock button together is a toggle. Should link or unlink the remote to the seat/mirror each time it is done. Are the doors shut when you are doing this? Are you perhaps holding the buttons down too long and you are linking and then unlinking?
Hope this helps

Don't know what to say. If the memory link is important to you, you might want to try and return it. I purchased the one for my 04 TL from Delray Acura (acuraoemparts.com). It will run about $64 plus s&h.

2006 TL: Here is a technique that worked for me using the Keyfob programming procedure in post #4. First when I did it...did not work...When I slowed down and used a One One thousand Two One thousand, than did the step, remotes programmed fine. When I was rushing to get thru the steps, must have been less than the 1 sec time, the programming did not work.

Here's a tip in case anyone is having the same problem I was...
I have a 2007 TL and got a replacement key fob. The dealer linked it to lock and unlock the doors, but I could not set any of the "Keyless Memory Settings". When going to that menu I would get the message that said "Customizing Not Available Until Linked to Remote".
I followed the steps in #4, but still could not customize the keyless settings.
After playing around for about a half hour, I finally figured out that if you press and hold both the lock AND unlock buttons AFTER completing all the steps in #4 (after linking the remote and turning off the ignition), it links the remote to the memory seat settings...and apparently this is somehow linked to the "Keyless Memory Settings". Press and hold both buttons until you see the tiny red light on the remote turn on and go off.
I can now access all the keyless memory settings. I wish this was in the owner's manual!

You can ask the service manager if he will charge you anything if you buy the keyfob from the dealer.
If he wants too much, or if you want to do it yourself, you can follow these instructions.
PROGRAMMING THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER (KEYFOB)
Storing transmitter codes.
The codes of up to three transmitters can be stored into the keyless receiver unit memory. (If a fourth code is stored, the code which was first input will be erased.)
NOTE: It is important to maintain the time limits between the steps. Make sure the doors, the hood and the trunk lid are closed.
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II)
2. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the keyless receiver unit behind the driver’s side of the dashboard.
3. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.
4. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch ON (II).
5. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the keyless receiver unit behind the driver’s side of the dashboard.
6. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch ON (II).

9. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.
10. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch ON (II).
11. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the keyless receiver unit behind the driver’s side of the dashboard.
12. Confirm you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators within 1 to 4 seconds, then push the transmitter lock or unlock button again, or the code will not be stored.
13. Within 10 seconds, aim the transmitter (up to two additional ones) whose codes you want to store in the keyless receiver, and press the transmitter lock or unlock buttons. Confirm that you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter code is stored.
14. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and remove the key.
15. Confirm proper operation with the transmitters.
NOTE: Once the programming mode is entered, the remote button must be pressed a second time. If the button is not pressed, or if the ignition switch is turned OFF, the programming for all remotes will be cancelled.

To answer my own question: it works to program the buttons on the remote to lock/unlock/ etc.
If you have one of the switchblade keys, you still have to get the transmitter in the key programmed to the immobilizer. I found this out the hard way when I programmed the remote, got the key cut, and couldn't figure out why the engine still wouldn't start.
Dealer quoted $108 just to program it, and you have to get all keys done at the same time.

Anyone with an 06 TL try this? the FCC # matches up.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...Q5fAccessories
How much does it cost to have the key cut?

I went to the acura dealership they couldnt program my remote, its the same FCC number as orignal. Im wondering if its a fake, i got it off ebay, the casing looks real. The inside looks different than the orignal. Here are the pics of the two. the left one is different than the right one which is the original. Can anyone confirm that the inside looks like the right one, or it varies?

Thought I'd share my success story. My extra key fob arrived today and I was originally worried because the numbers on the back don't match what's in this write up. The numbers on the back of the new key fob are:
CMII ID: 2005DJ0229
G8D-358H-A
OMRON
But I followed the instructions carefully and everything works fine. Thanks!

Just want to clarify something for the handicapped..... (me included)!
When the instructions say "Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF", that means position (I) of the ignition switch, not "O".
Here's a link to another set of instructions: http://www.wikihow.com/Program-Facto...emote-Key-Fobs
Hope this helps

Sorry to revive an old thread, but it is exactly what I am looking for. I have a switchblade 07-08 TL key that I want to have cut & programmed for my 04 TL. If I can get the dealer to cut the key for free (one dealer said they would) can I skip the $90.00 programming charge by following the above instructions?

All,
I have a 07 TL and have lost one of my keys. The remaining key I have is also falling apart. So, I'm looking to replace the two keys. Rather than buying the OEM keys from my local dealer, I was hoping to just order some OEM keys from online and simply pay to have the dealer link the keys to the immobilizer and program them. (Dealer wants to charge $106 for they key, and $55 for the programming).
I was thinking that $106 sounds marked up for just the "parts", and so I looked online. However, I'm a bit confused w/ what is turning up in the parts list:
35111-SEP-306 KEY, IMMOBILIZER & TRANSMITTER(MEMORY 1) (BLANK) 2007 TL 84.88 63.66 Qty: 35111-SEP-307 KEY, IMMOBILIZER & TRANSMITTER(MEMORY 2) (BLANK) 2007 TL 84.88 63.66 Qty: 35119-SEP-305 KEY, IMMOBILIZER & TRANSMITTER(MEMORY 1) (BLANK) 2007 TL 39.62 29.72 Qty: 35119-SEP-306 KEY, IMMOBILIZER & TRANSMITTER(MEMORY 2) (BLANK) 2007 TL 39.62 29.72 Qty:
In the above table, what are the differences between the 35111-SEP-306 part and the 35119-SEP-305? Both list as Memory 1 key, immobilizer, & transmitter. But one is much cheaper?
Can anyone clarify the difference?
Thanks!

FOB issue
Today I am trying to figure out why my fob did not lock my doors when I got out of my car. Could it be the keyless fob is going dead? Some type of disconnect. Or something else? I got back into the car and the push button start works fine. Is it hard to replace the keyless fob battery? Does the symptoms sound familiar to anyone? I cant believe this! what i way to start the day
Any suggestions/comments?

when i first purchased my TL, it only came with one set of key and remote (memory 2). i called the dealer and try to get a quote on the key, remote and programming, it's gonna be around 250-300. but with the all the great help here, i am thinking to just order a blank key and a remote online and do everything myself. so my question is can i go to home depot to ask them to cut the blank key for me or do i HAVE TO go to the dealer because someone mentioned the immobilizer. also how can i link my new key to the new remote since both of them are new and come separately? sorry for the long question and thanks in advance

Hmmm this post is old but still need info. So my 2005 TL lost a remote. It wasnt me I swear. So i got one on ebay and found out its the same #2 as my other one. The dealer tells me (i kinda trust them and kinda dont) that you cant program 2 of the same. I dont care if my seat memory works or not. So the question is can I program both #2s or not? If I program one, will the other one not work? Bummer is I need another key too which costs too much. I looked on the web and am waiting for a reply from an auto locksmith for a price on him doing the key chip. SO anyone knows if you can program 2 or the same number remotes? Does it work or not? Thanks for any help.

You could but at any given time you could only have 2 master keys total....so for example if you have 3 keys in your possesion only 2 of those keys will be able to be programmed!! hope that helps!!
I have 3 keys and I have two programmed ones...I replaced a number 1 with another number 1 and once you program the new key it will automatically disable the other key...only thing the other key would to is manually open car and start car. none of the buttons will work on the old key you replaced!

yes it was to your question...and I don't know if that will work if you have just 2 number 2 keys and no number 1 key but i dont see why not!! I believe it should work...either way you will be able to do one key and then when you attempt the other key if it works but bumps the other one out then you will know the answer if both can be programmed at the same time to the vehicle!

Thanks, I will try it today or tomorrow. I will post my results. Might help people that have two of the same FOBs. If they do everything except for the seat and mirror memory that would not bother me one bit. Again thanks for an answer on an old but crazy thread. Btw the other FOB I have is one with no seat memory so it just might work out. Then again the control must be programmed for a 1 and a 2 so Im thinking it might bump it out if they are both 2s. I did read a ways back that someone had it just working for the doors.
How about this? Do all the keys for 2005 TL have a chip in them? Someone I know swears that he had a key made from a mom and pop store and it worked. I thought all the keys for the 2005 had chips in them.

well you can have a key made to just manually open the door and start the vehicle! if that is what you are asking?....I have a third key that is just key itself that came with vehicle sort of like valet key! does not have no buttons on them...hope it works out for you and let me know if it worked or what happened!
