Problems in 10k+ VINs?

Can people Chime in on problems they've had on their later build VINs? Specifically the common problems such as the memory seat prob, vibrations, etc.

My VIN is in the 10,000's and so far I haven't experienced the major problems that have been reported. I've got about 1300 miles on the car so far. I had the seat memory vanish once. I also have a rattle in the back seat area that I haven't had time to find, plus the rear deck is installed wrong such that you can see the C pillar on the drivers side, about a 1/2 inch gap between the C pillar cover and the rear deck. My leather is wrinkling some, but that isn't a big issue for me.

I haven't had the vibration problem, nor the engine check light problem that some have had.

So far the car has been fine and the few little items I've found will be fixed when it goes in for the first oil change. All in all, I'm a happy camper...

14K here, 1300 miles on it.
Only problem I have is the memory seat thing.
No vibration, but then I live in SoCal, so the tires never really get cold...

Thanks all for the input, this is really useful information for potential new buyers like me. Gives us hope that the early build problems have been somewhat resolved.

VIN in the 10,500's:

Had the vibration problems until I replaced the Turanzas.

Had and still have some rattles and there is a bad place in the paint on the right front fender.

No mechanical problems.

16,009....took delivery one week ago.... 1,080 miles

-Rattle behind the dash
-Memory Seat loss (happened for the first time today)
-Navi doesn't automatically adjust to daytime/nightime lighting
-fit/finish of left-hand side of glove box where it meets dash - WAY OFF
-valve stem covers on tires don't fit (too small/short..maybe a dealer goof)
-minor vibration issues

I think this one is settable in one of the the Nav setup screens.

Cheers,
Bruce

You are correct. It is, but the "Auto" function doesn't work. I have to manually set it to day or night.

I believe I have the solution to your problem.

To the left of the steering wheel, on the console, there is a brightness adjustment button...and to the top of that is the "max" button.

By pressing the max button, all console lights INCLUDING the navigation light is set to max ALWAYS (i.e. whether headlights are on or off and whether the navigation setup is set to auto or not).

So, what you need to do is press the "max" button again. This should solve your problem.

Please keep us updated whether this is the correct solution.

I'm confused here, my VIN is 19 Alpha-numeric characters long. Are we talking about the LAST 6 digits, or the 5 digits in the middle?

The last 6 digits of my Vin are 001423 & middle 5 are 66244. Sounds like I have an early model. Anyway, no noticeable problems since I bought it 11/29, a demo with 3037 miles, now about 4K miles.

VIN 14467 - Only problem has been the Homelink. VERY, very poor signal strength (only worked from a foot or two away). Replicated it at the dealership and they replaced the transmitter in the car.

My homelink works like a champ. Just for the record, and I know homelink transmitters are on a lot of cars now, but that's one of the coolest things on the car! Much better than clipping the damn thing to the visor. And it even works on my 7+ yr old Genie opener.

VIN 14417 -- only problem is that the seat memory system had it's third episode of Alzheimer's this morning. Other than that, perfect.
