Price Check

I'm looking at possibly buying a TL. I have a price quote of $32,650 for a 2004 TL w/ Nav 6AT plus tax and tags. That's a little more than $500 over invoice which seems like a good deal. Thoughts?

JEFF.

Do some more homework.....your "stealer" is NOT giving you the best price. Do a search on 04 pricing in the forum. Then look at the prices listed with in the last 30 days.

You should be able to work the dealer down another $1100~~$1500. REMEMBER....no dealer wants to have 04's and 05's on the lot at the same time. Make the "stealer" sweat!!

I don't know if they'll go down to about $1250 to $1500 off, but at least get down to the high $31k. The manuals are not too in demand.....as opposed to the automatics, which are fetching highter prices.

good luck,

got a internet price quote for $30,900. 2004 TL No Nav, 5AT, before tax and title. If 05 models are that close they should be able to go lower on the 04 right? Maybe another $1k or $2k?

He lives in PA. Not LA. Your prices are WAY above the rest of the country. Now that the 05's are in route.......ya, I do think that $30,000~~$31,000 is doable in his area.

Make the dealer work for you !!!!

Your prices are right on. With the 05's in transit to the dealers as we speak......NOW is a great time to work over your dealer for YOUR best price.

The dealer I spoke with yesterday claimed that his shipments through October would still be 2004's. He would have no reason to lie to me, unless he were to tell me the opposite (no more 2004's! BUY NOW!) Since the 2004s and 2005s are virtually identical perhaps if you order special you get a 2005 no matter when it arrives but there are still 2004s in the pipeline.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I've searched the board a bit and the LA prices are probably what is confusing me. I was intending to negotiate even better pricing and get a couple of dealers competing for my business. Something tells me they won't go too far below invoice...
