premium for 2005 6MT w/ Navigation?

considering how rare these are, has anyone sold theirs at a premium? Whats the wait on one of these now.

Just wondering.. mine is SSM 6mt w/ NAVI, Dropped on comptechs and koni shocks, Aspec kit, and 18x8.5 Gunmetal Aspec rims. 19K miles.

Actually, although rarer, a used 6mt will sell for LESS than an auto simply because the demand is lower for MT cars especially in urban areas where people simply don't want to shift in heavy traffic. A6mt car is for people who like driving, so try selling it privately and find someone who actually wants a 6mt and might be willing to pay more to get one. With your mods, there might be someone out there who's willing to pay more than blue book for your car.

Not always true. Trade in for a 6MT or 5AT in Atlanta is exactly the same according to KBB. Dealer retail for the 5AT is a whopping $265 more for the 5AT than the 6MT.

Keep in mind that demand is less for MT cars, but supply is also significantly less. It's not like Acura is cranking them out at a 1:1 ratio.

If your going to sell it, try e-bay. It's much easier to find someone who is actually interested in a MT online than locally sometimes. I recently sold my 5-spd on e-bay for waaay more than I could have got on trade or trying to sell locally.

Dealer wanted me to give them my car (97 Maxima SE w/ 111,000 miles) & 32,500 on a 2006 TL w/o nav. Obviously I laughed at them.......sold it on e-bay for $5,000 then bought my TL from another dealer for $30,600.

Thanks for the input everyone. I am personally not worried at all about finding someone who wants a 6MT w/ NAVI... There are enough 'i just got out of college, just got a job, and looking for a hot car' people here in Seattle.

For a 100 people who want AT's, 10 will want MT's and there will only be 3 or 4 available for those 10, so although general demand is not there compared to the AT, all you need is enough demand to sell the car... my only real question is if anyone has been able to or knows anyone who was able to sell a 6MT for higher than Bluebook.

Just wanted to see if i could get a count on AZ.

I've heard from some that when you want to buy a 6MT, the dealer will say how rare they are so the price is higher. However, when you want to trade one in, they'll say how the demand is so much lower so they can't give you as much in trade.

Thats for damn sure... thats the case w/ any mods.. when they sell it, they will say the car is worth more b/c of the mods and then when you trade it in, they will say that the mods aren't worth anything. But, the key for me is not to trade it in. haha. if you really need the tax credit trade it in.. otherwise private sale baby. waiting for the skyline in 2008... so i'll probably just hold on until then.

im actually going to pick up my 06 TL (AT) with Nav tomorrow. i would rather have a MT but i made a compromise with my parents that i would get an AT than an MT if i get the Nav. but i just figure i would get the AT with Nav right now and trade it in 9 months later for an MT with Nav.

Amen. Never trade in a car. Sell it yourself and you will come out way ahead. Mods typically add very little when reselling. A full A-spec(suspension and wheels) might add 1k or so to the price but you definantly loose when you add mods to any vehicle.

Unfortunately that is true... anyone who expects that they could recoup most of what was invested into the car is foolish. Mods are for the here and now, to enjoy as the owner of the car... The upgrades i've done are subtle and would probably be acceptable to even those on the conservative side. So i do expect it to ask a little more for it, but then again i didn't spend nearly what the dealer would charge for an Aspec package at time of purchase or even as a separate upgrade from the dealer.

on the other hand, if you drop 4K on a supercharger, i would say, don't ever expect to make any considerable amount back when selling.
