Try Marco's Auto Body. You can search for them online for nearest location.

powdercoating is prob not what you are looking for. the color and finish match would not be good, plus it would be more expensive than painting. powdercoating is generally for rough, high temp or high abuse items.

Im not sure you can even powder coat the grill. Its plastic on the TL and would melt in a second when they put it in the oven...

Would it be a good idea to powdercoat brake calipers, or just have a body shop professionally paint them?

I dont think it would be a bad idea at all. I think it would probably hold up well....

painted brake calipers

Why have a bodt shop paint them. I did mine. took me about an hour total per caliper. The best part is that the wheel is the only thing you need to remove.

Go to any local auto-parts store and get the dura-cote brake caliper paint kit. it will cost you $12 and do all 4 calipers if you want.

It has good instructions, but basically:
  1. remove the wheel
  2. clean the caliper thoroughly with some brake cleaner
  3. blow away any dust
  4. tape off the pads, rotor, and caliper bracket near the caliper
  5. paint it
  6. let it dry about 30 min
  7. put another coat on
  8. let it dry 30 more
  9. can put another coat on if need be, but mine were good with 2 coats
  10. I put my wheel back on after an hour & moved on to the next wheel
  11. give it 24 hours to dry before driving.

I would have probably gone with this option, but they don't have the color I want.

I think a lot of your decision-making on this will be driven by your personal style (not like that's a profound statement, or anything). Generally speaking, you're right, blue with the SSM is a good color combination.

My personal preferences would lean towards a "low-key" approach to the color...I agree that they would look nice painted in a blue, but I don't think I'd be going for it if it was an electric blue or something. That'd kind of be screaming "LOOK AT ME" and it'd be a pain to take care of. Something a little more subtle, in my opinion, would be slick...it'd get noticed by enthusiasts (with a little "wink" and a "nod") but the general daily driver would be oblivious.

So your saying hott pink! Schweet

I was thinking blue or black. I don't want it to stand out too much, so if it was blue it would be a darker shade

I would go with a black, maybe even like a nighthawk black or satin black if that's available. I never liked the way the blue's turned out on those DIY kit's and IMO it would degrade the car.
