Potential way to force a recall on the Dashboards?

So I know we've all tried to call our local Acura dealers and what not to get a fix on the cracked dashes with mixed resulst - but I just saw this article. Probably a shot in the dark on a 10-14 year old car, but worth a try?

Recall on a non-safety-related item? Not likely.

"One of those was filed by Troy Lyman, a computer programmer from Winchester, Calif., who owns a 2007 Saturn Sky. A major concern among Sky owners, which arose around 2015, had been a sensing mechanism failure that could prevent the passenger-side airbag from deploying."

Because of a safety issue it was done.
Cracked dashboard, I would just put that paperwork to the bottom of my to-do-list in hopes it blows off my desk.

Pretty sure there have been threads in the past that had links to complaints people filed with the NHTSA claiming it was safety related due to the dash having a fragment risk if the passenger airbags were to deploy.

Personally...I think this is a lost cause. My '05 finally cracked out 2-3 years ago. I accept it in a 10+ year old car. It sucks, but it is what it is.
