My 2007 TL was hit three weeks after I bought her and I'm getting ready to drop her off at the auto body shop. I'm not sure if they are going to be able to just repaint the front bumper of if I will need a new one. If I do need a new one, can I order the Type-S for about the same price and it will fit the existing pieces. The only damage was to the head light, fog light and deep scrapes on the actual front bumper. The only other thing I have seen on here outside of the Type-S is the A-spec which looks like just the lip. Please let me know what will work and if there are other options. Thanks.

 

Type-S bumper would cost more. You're not only buying the bumper, but the fog light assembly, the grill, and other things. It will cost you another $500, if not more, from the dealership. Did you hit someone, because most accidents involving the front side of the car is usually his/her fault.

You would need the bumper and lower side grilles, and center grille parts & hood trim. The base center grille parts would fit, but the dark chrome finish would not match the dark chrome finish on the lower side grilles. The TL-S has dark chrome trim, the base has matte silver trim.

The 07-08 fog housings are the same for TL-S & Base, just the lower grilles are different.

 

stick with the 07 base front bumper and get an aspec lip ... looks better than the type S IMO

 

My TL was parked along a driveway and someone was backing out in the dark and didn't see it.... I wasn't even in the car when it happened. Funny thing is I had a bad feeling for some reason that night and didn't want to drive it but I was talked into it! Should have listened to my instincts.
