I wonder if the power steering hose was leaking. Poor TL. A total loss I'm sure.

reminds me of the mid 90's when heavily modded street civic/integs would catch on fire from leaking plumbing or leaking nos lines =(

There is no plumbing in the TL, unlike your house which does.

There is a recall for a power steering hose and wiper motor which can cause a fire.

Yes, if you don't get the power steering hose recall done, this can happen. The power steering fluid drips on the manafold and FIRE!

ya that sucks...

I'm not sure who it sucks more for though, the TL owners or the cars right next to it.

I think I'd rather have the total loss fried TL than either of the two cars next to it. Which will probably stink like burned plastic forever now... Not to mention any charing for the flames.

Sucks for everyone involved...

Damn feel bad for the owner... I always check on recalls for my car. Remember they are free. No charge.

I've been lurking on Acurazine for hmm four years now...I've seen more Acuras on fire than I'm comfortable with. Sucks to who's ever TL that was. New car time for them though.

I'd be pissed if I parked next to a car that caught on fire.

I actually just replaced mine because it "bent" and hit my hose and ripped a hole in it. Thank god this didn't happen.

These cars catch fire when they are parked with the engine off? Isn't that kind of like spontaenous combustion? I would think if it happened while the car were running or just shut off that the owner wouldn't have been able to park it and walk away before that fire started, and would be there himself with at least a garden hose.

Maybe someone really pissed off their girlfriend and she lit fire to his baby...

at least we know that it is extremely hard to just open the hood without the release inside, so if the release cable broke we would be screwed.

At the end it looked like it was dropped to the ground, i wonder if the owner wanted it that way. (ps. i know the tires melted)
