Poor Rear Window Visibility

There have been threads here about the poor visibility through the rear window, and Consumer Reports has an article on this problem which you can read online called "Blind Spots":

http://www.consumerreports.org/main/home

Don't know how well it would work in the TL, but one simple suggestion is to purchase a wide-angle lens:

The plastic lens sticks to the rear window and allows you to see a wide-angle rear view.

• Best for seeing objects in the blind spot, parking.

It's true, an 04 TL doesn't have the greatest visibilty toward the rear. If you drive the car for awhile, you'll learn the feel of it's dimensions, problem solved. If you don't often have rear seat passengers, you could also remove the back headrests. It's not much of an issue to me.

No visibility problem for me. I do not have any problems even if 3 persons are sitting in the back. I guess it's a matter of getting used to.

Isn't the "fish eye" stick on lens for vertical or near vertical rear windshield? the TL is in a something like 45 degree angle so I don't think the lens will work. I head the rear spoilers can give you a better sense if your rear bumper's proximity when backing up.

I'm interested in having Rear Camera installed, like what weeeg has done.

Ha, Thanks. I like our rearview mirror so far.

I just like to utilize our large LCD screen. Try to do something.
