Poor fitting door

Anyone experience any of their doors (driver rear in particular) not 100% flush with the rear qtr. panel? It is very slight, you feel it when you wash/wax - it almost looks like when someone does not shut the door all the way. Just not as flush like the other doors. There is no difference in gap all the way around the door and I do not see it rubbing anywhere, no wind whistele, no water leaks or anything, so maybe just a poorly formed door unit. Just curious if there were others or if I am just the lucky one. I do not think it deserves a trip to the dealer, (afterall, what can they do about that - except probably try to mash it in or kick it closed, scratch my paint and probably dent the door - no thanks) just one of those things that once you see it, you can't stop looking...yes, my wife thinks I am crazy once again...

I noticed that too. I can feel it, and if I look at it from the rear end of the car, I can just barely see the door sticking out a little. I'm with you, it is not enough to bother with. The door fits so tight that it would probably be hard to adjust it any better and it never bothered me so I just forget about it.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I am glad to hear I am not alone. I TOTALLY agree that there is nothing to be done, just one of those things. Your description is right on. Sometimes more damage is done when a fix is attempted.

I actually had a rear door that was way misaligned...I had it fixed by the dealer, now it is completely flush with the rear while the door on the other side is the same way you guys describe. Sucks that it can never be perfect.

I must say I am REALLY surprised at flaws like these - I had the opportunity once to work in a car manufacturing plant (from an IT perspective) , but I took many tours of the assembly line (some as part of the job,or many if I was bored) and it is a really cool process. I watched these guys go over these cars with incredible attention to detail - fit, smoothness before and after painting. Don't see how this happens - but I guess it does...

I had it too, 9/03 build, seems they still have not fixed that alignment issue.
