That is a BEAST!

That build is quite similar to my father's. 276" stage II bottom end. The main exception is we're way under turbo'd and run relatively low boost (19psi) for the engine build. The T-76 spools like stock and still made 800-ish at the wheels. With the cam, heads, and bottom end it has, 1000+hp is doable with a fuel system and turbo upgrade but right now it spools so good and traction is a problem at 130mph, no need for more.

yeah, and I'm complaining because I have traction problems at 30mph . . .

the one scene on the dyno where the guy started to smoke the tires was too much . . .

That car is just stupid fast. We ran it around for many years in the 10.40 range on the stock motor and that was on the verge of too much power for the street. So many good memories in the street scene. Then he installed the 4.5L stage II motor and on street tire it's completely unusable. Slicks are a different story but I think my dad realized it sort of crossed the line from a fun street car to a barely legal race car, it's only been driven 100 miles in the last 5 years. In fact it's been under the car cover in the garage for over 3 years straight.

Here's a well prepped stock block GN vs a gsxr750

They were known for dragging the rear bumpers with sparks and everything back in the old days. With new suspension technology, they're faster but not as much fun to watch without the wheelies.

High stall torque convertor and tall gears. Plus it's a 6 cylinder so it's always going to sound kind of funny.

What's hard to catch is first gear is over in about a second. The car is in second for a little bit and then shifts to third. When you see the dust and the car really takes off is the driver flooring it right when it shifts to second.

wow, that's pretty crazy, that stall rpm must be very high. I can barely tell it's shifting from 1st to 2nd gear.

Dang . . . ran in to a newer MB CLK550 driving a bit spiritedly and was hoping to get a run with him. He wasn't real cool about it . . . he jumps on it . . . and I jump on it and loose tractions and he lets up before I can get in to 2nd. I guess he figured he was starting to pull away and didn't mess around anymore . . . either that or he was just an .

Not sure how it would have come out if I would have hooked up . . . he did pull me where his rearend was next to my passenger front door . . and I thought I detected the whine of a supercharger . . .

Anyway, I got to find a way to get some traction on a 1st gear punch . . . it's almost like I'm hitting NOS or something and it'll just spin the tires for 10' to 20' or more depending on the road surface. I can't believe that I'm have that much of a problem. I may have to get some different wheels and bigger tires so I can get more rubber on the ground. I'm running 225/45/17s and may need to try 235/45/17s or move to 18s, but don't have the cash for that.

18s will make the problem worse. Put some drag radials on it next time it needs tires and you will have a hard time spinning even if you purposely try and spin.

That guy probably heard you spinning and backed out when he was barely pulling away so you couldn't hook and get past him.

My friend with the stock CL65 ran a cammed 04 Cobra and we put his nose to our rear. My friend was like we got him and I'm looking back and seeing the Cobra still spinning in second gear. I was like no we don't. When the Cobra shifted to third, there was a little spin and then he slingshotted past us.
