Please Read - Selfishness and Selflessness
You are greedy and selfish.
So am I.
We all come to this site and enjoy it freely, never sending Astro a check or giving any money to Internet Brands.
You have a computer/phone that you read the site on. You have $20 in your pocket. You have your health and a roof over your head.
Once a year, though, we have a chance to NOT be selfish.
Once a year AZine asks you to toss some spare change into a hat for sick kids who are in the hospital and will not get any toys for Christmas.
I said SICK KIDS IN THE HOSPITAL who will NOT GET TOYS for Christmas.
I mean, they already feel like shit because they are in the hospital, and the thought of not getting a toy for Christmas must just break their hearts. Their parents are spending all their money on the hospital bills not knowing if the kids are going to make it.
YOU have the chance to give that child a smile and a toy. Think of how happy that kid will be when he or she opens the wrapping paper and sees what YOU gave him or her!
This charity gives 100% of the donations to the kids. NO admin fees, no 80 cents on the dollar.
If you have already given, thank you.
If you have not, please look into your heart and your wallet and give $5 or $10 or $20.
You are the ONLY way these kids are getting a single toy for Christmas.
Thanks.

I donated and check out the first page for the items I donated as well. Merry xmas and happy holidays. I wish I could personally give the gifts to the kids to see how happy this charity makes them.

Thanks for the push...
coming from a forum member AND the fact that there are no admin fees and it's distributed to all hospitals etc made me go for it.
We lose more than $20 on a parking ticket these days...I'm sure we can afford it for some kids. Money is a funny thing...the more you let go of it, the more comes your way
True story.
Happy Holidays all!

OK, 218 people have viewed this thread and only a handfull (thanks!) have posted replies saying they would donate.
You guys are better than that!
If each person who viewed this thread put $20 in the hat, we would be nearly to 75% of the goal!
I am no math wiz but 218*$20 is like... Hang on... Carry the seven...
WHOA!!!! $4360!!!!
You guys can do eet!!!!!!111111!!!!1one!!!!

You can't donate to everybody who asks, nor can you be guilt-tripped by those you do not donate to.
Many of us probably donate to our church or other groups. We do an "Angel Tree", buying presents for kids who have a parent in prison, we do "Shoes for Orphan Souls", we do a "Box gift" thing for kids also.
So, nice of you to draw attention to your very worthwhile cause, just probably not the best way to go about it.
Sorry, I'm just sayin'........

I hate that the edit function goes away so quickly.
I really commend you for your efforts for these kids. That effort shouldn't be dealt with rudely by some dumb arse such as myself. It was not my place to comment, especially this time of year.......

At work, they corral us into a room and try and FORCE us to donate to United Way which I KNOW uses a large portion of contributions for "admin costs"...I don't like being made to feel like a cheapskate in order to donate "a la salvation army staredowns at the grocery store entrance". Something about this cause, and the fact that 100% goes to the kids made me go for it. I totally agree that we can and some do give in our own ways...
Nice to know we participate in a forum where A) people help others B) people admit when they're wrong without being told

Have a great holiday!
AND back OT (although I think that discussion is actually helpful TO topic)...let's get these kids some Red Ryder BB guns already!!!
I have a friend that his house blew up due to a gas leak about a month ago killing one of our friends and paralyzing my good friend from the chest down... i donated over 500.00 myself to him and his girlfriend to get back on their feet... i would have helped here and i know what’s 10.00 but i am trying to help them out as much as possible. Next year i will for sure!

Done and done.
It's true that you can't donate to every cause, but in this case, if it's hosted by Acurazine I'll do it. This site has saved me a ton of money and several hours of time with the DIY's and advice. If they say this is a good charity then I'm all for it.

Come on guys! Let's get more money in! 2 more days...even being 17, I found I can donate 30 bucks, with no job, paying for gas and insurance, and an expensive girlfriend. Let's get to this goal.
