Please help! Tint/noise problem

I just picked up my car from having the windows tinted, and there is a huge amount of wind noise coming from the driver and passenger windows. I took my kids home and went back to the tint shop as soon as I could, but there was no one there, and I can't leave a message.

Please let me know if anyone has experienced this problem and what it could be. I looked at every piece of weather stripping and physically everything seems to be there, but somehting is definietly wrong. The cabin went from being whisper quitet to extremely loud on the highway. I'm so pissed I can barely type. Please help me!

You're right! They cut-off the entire wiper on the inside of the window! I can't believe they did this! I don't know what to do except demand they replace the wiper. Does anyone know if this is easy to replace???

I had a similar problem (driver window). The dealer said they would have to replace WHOLE door panel, because of what the tinter did. $600, I told dealer to replace, I'd get my money back from the tinter.

Dealer said once they got into door to really see what was wrong it was that rubber piece (they had only damaged it). $100 later no more sounds.

I couldn't tell you. The damaged that was done by the tinters, will be paid for by the tinters. You might have to fight them.

Without Acura not be able to find the problem, I really don't know what to say. Maybe try and get another dealer to look at it.

the think is with the TL's guys...if u feel the two rubber molding that are on the sides of the glass. the outside has that fabric feel on the inside...the inside molding doesnt...so what an official tint shop will do is, take the panel off and put a fabric felt over the rubber so that it doesnt scratch the tint..but most shops take a short cut and jus take a razor and cut the rubber..thats what they did

any reputable/good shop will not cut the corners and will install moleskin. cutting the wiper blade is hack, actually destructed your property. If they don't cooperate, try contacting local law enforcement. If they damaged 4 windows at the dollar amounts mentioned above, thats alot of burden for you to carry.

ye your right they took a razor and cut it off, they told me they could put the fabic felt over the part that straches it, but it has a chance of always falling off so their like well cut it off and it will be fine like b 4 and nothing problems nutin, when i get the car back the niose on the highway makes u wanna crash the car and get a new one, and the rattlinf of the window when you hit a bump is insane i cant take it.

I would make them replace the wiper blade, they do not need to apply moleskin or felt to it to prevent/minimize scratching. what you need to do is keep your interior and windows very clean and you will not have any problems. If they refuse or resist print up some flyers about what they have done and position yourself just outside their business and hand them out to anyone that will take them. That was completely unprofessional and a total hack job. If they cut out the wiper I do not think there is anything left to apply the felt to, nor keep any pressure on the glass to seal noise or vibration.

Good news on my situation. The tint shop is replacing the wipers at no charge. They were very apologetic and said they always remove (cut) the wipers from all vehicles that don't have felt. The owner was shocked to hear the difference when I took him for a drive. He noted that I was the first person to return with a problem since they started removing the wipers 4 years ago. He offered to install moleskin, but I declined. I keep my car immaculate and have never had a problem with this in the past (my maxima didn't have felt either).
