Planning on Purchasing 2008 TL-S

Hi, I'm new to the forums and want to purchase a '08 TL Type S, 5 Spd AT. I don't want any additional exterior, interior accessories. MSRP from Acura's site came out to be $38,225.00. Just have several questions below:

1. I'm wondering how much you paid for the TL-S out the door? Trying to find the best deal possible.

2. Which Southern California dealer did you purchase from?

3. How much discount did you get on the car?

Any info would be a great help and much appreciated. Thanks!

1. Check the Sign-In thread at the top..its Sticky'd
2. Sorry can't help you on that one
3. Currently the either have 0.9% financing up to 48 months or 2.9%/60 months or if not choosing low financing they have a $2500 cash rebate. Keep these in mind when making your purchase

Good Luck

You should be ablke to get a Type-S for about $33.8K right now + ttl there is a $2K rebate and dealers are selling them for invoice. My understanding is Type-S is not being made now so whatever inventory is out there is it.
What part of the country you at?

I'm in Los Angeles, California. Do you know why they're not making the Type-S anymore? By the way, is the $33.8K before or after the rebate? Thanks Keith

The Reason they are not making anymore TL this year is because at the end of the year, a new model of TL will be released. btw i just recently purchased a type S 2008, i think anything below 33800 before tax would be good.

Thanks 08WDP. It seems like $33.8K is as low as I've heard so far.

The 0.9% financing terms + the rebate sounds pretty enticing. I'll definitely keep that in mind. I also checked online and it said that the rebate offer will expire 6/30/08 (at least in my area). Not sure about the other zip codes.

The lowest I got was 32832 from a NY dealership. That's with the 2500 cash back. And if you qualify for the 0.9 financing, you don't get the 2500 cash back.

$32,832 is really good. Even if you don't get the 0.9%/48-m financing, 2.9%/60-m is still pretty good. Still can pay off earlier if you have the extra cash and save on interest. I guess it's something to calculate and think about. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Hadn't thought about it.

I got that price after shopping from 5 different dealerships in the area. I would definitely bought it if I can get it that price with the 0.9 financing. That will be too sweet.

Acura dealers hurting?

I just got a letter yesterday from Concord Acura about employee pricing for existing Acura customers. I also got a telephone call from BMW last week about good deals. I have heard the car dealers are really hurting right now. I'm not in the market for a car right now, but for those who are, this sounds like a great time to get a good deal on a new car - Acura, BMW, or any other car.

Thanks for the heads up Bob! Although it's not year-end, it's good to know that timing is good for buyers right now. I wanted to get the car within a week, but at the same time, didn't want to rush it until I get some feedback from others who have gotten really sweet deals. But I'm definitely getting within a month.

I'm gonna shop at least 4 dealers within 10 miles radius first. but I will probably also look further out in hopes for some even better deals. but hopefully they have the color and trim I want in stock.

I live in San Diego and I got my CBP Type S for $36,000 plus tax. I could have gotten it in black for about $2,000 cheaper but I wanted Carbon Broze pearl with ebony interior and there was only 1 in Southern Ca at the time. I guess it depends on what the dealership has. I was happy that I got it for a few grand less then MSRP.

I get an email or letter about once a month from the delaer about wanting to buy 'high quality used cars' or an offer for great service deals. It's a come-on.
they always want people in the store.

The dealerships are definitely hurting. I always contact the internet sales since I don't want to deal it over the phone. I even had a dealership who is willing to pricematch their competitor's price plus more. I tried to see if I can get both incentives, but none of them will budge.

That's great to hear...I'm gonna contact a number of them to see how low I can push the numbers before going in. Because when I go in, I'm wanna take care of everything and not waste more time negotiating.

Nice try to get both incentives TypeSDragon...but if you don't ask, you'll never know. It's kinda hard to have your cake and eat it too...lol...but every now and then, you'll be surprised. I'm gonna ask when I ask them even though it'll most likely be no...haha.

Yeah, that's tough. If there's only one left in SoCal, they have the upper hand. But if you're happy with the price...then it's all good. I hope they have plenty TLS Royal Blue Pearl in stock, otherwise, it'll be hard to bargain with them. =P

Not sure how much luck you'll have since you've signed the documents already. But it doesn't hurt to ask. Two things:

Did you qualify for the 0.9% financing? If you did, then you won't get the rebate (at least that's what mentioned on the thread)

I'm not sure when the rebate offer started. I know it ends 6/30/08 in San Gabriel Valley (CA) area.

Good luck...

You hit it right on bro .... one of my buddy works for BMW & they never consider going right at/below invoice for their new cars, but now they got words from above saying that they need to push those cars out (since they are getting 4 shipments of new ones every week even after they told HQ to stop sending) and they can do it at below invoice prices. I can imagine it's the same situation across the board for all the car dealers. Great time for buyers ... guess I have to settle for the one I've got 'cuz i didn't want to wait last year .... :sigh:

I did some calculations and to tell you the truth, I would take the 0.9 financing for 48 months over the 2500 cash back. Let say if you have 30k handy, just put a few thousand down and put the rest in a high yield CD or savings and you will accumulate over 2500 easy in the next 4 yrs. Hmm... I might go that route.. LOL!

Nice! That's my goal too. I'm trying to shoot for $37K OTD. Hope I can get the extras you have. thanks for the info! Gonna start requesting quotes from dealers over the next few days. Let's see what happens.
