Pissed Off

On May 1st, I bought a silver TL at North Toronto Acura. I know it will take a few days for the paper work to go through. When I bought the TL I found many deep scratches on the rear bumper, but I manage to get them to get the bumper repainted for free. They told me it will be ready on May 15th. However, today I receive an email from them and they said it will not be ready until next week. So basically I will be waiting for 3 weeks for the TL. This makes me PISSED OFF.

Just to make you fell better, just think that it's not coasting you anything to have the bumper sprayed. The silver is not an easy color to body match, so they may be doing a respray. When you get there take a look at the front bumper and if that hasn't been repainted, it will be a totally different shade than the rest of the car. Hopefully the rear bumper will match, if not you'll have 3 shades of silver on the car.

I'm sorry if I am adding fuel to the fire here but if I were you I would go down to the dealer and check on the car ASAP. (keep your cool while there)

I doubt the car is at the dealership. They probably sub-contract the painting and it's at the paint shop. Who knows, it may come out pretty nice. It's gotta be better than the deep scratches.

I was so excited to go pick it up on Saturday and drive around with it. So what were they doing last week? Nothing? Waiting for the last minute to paint the bumper and tell the customer to wait another week to come and pick it up

That does suck, but at least it seems like they want to get it right the first time so you don't have to bring it back in

Is this a new TL? What exactly did the e-mail say? Cut and paste the e-mail here.

There is absolutely no way a bumper repaint should take 2 weeks, much less 3 weeks. I assume you've already paid for the car, so you are being charged interest for no car.

You should get something for their delay: free trunk liner, free oil changes, loaner, etc. Make the salesman/service manager explain exactly why it's taking 3 weeks for them to paint a bumper. If I were you, I'd do this in person and also politely demand to see the car, even if it's at another shop. This is the only way you'll know if they are BSing you.

You know, there are horror stories where a tech wrecked the car while driving to/from the body shop, etc. Make sure this or something like it hasn't happened. See the car in person, today...

Def. see what you can get out of the stealership. I got free wheel locks for complaining enough about the WDP bumper mismatch. I didn't get them to repaint it, but at least I got wheel locks out of them....lol

And are we talking about a new TL? 2010? or 3rd Gen ?

This is the email the salesperson, that sold me the TL, sent me...

"David Yip just confirmed that your Acura TL is currently working progress to fix the bumper and removal scratches. It won't be able ready until next week."

David Yip is the manager at the dealership. Yeah it is a 3rd gen TL.

Yup. Pisses me off everytime I see it. It's not often people notice it though... but when they do it annoys the shit out of me because I notice it every day !!!!!

Kinda like that dent from a rock that I have at the bottom of the driver door. Noone sees it, but I know it's there and it pisses me off !!!

hey a fellow canuck! welcome!

watch out for dealerships in toronto, a few of them are scammers like acura woodbine and acura 2000. check first before you buy from these 2 dealerships. There have been a lot of mixed feeling with these 2 stealerships.

welcome to the club i'm from oakville.
