Pictures of Ingen CAI??

I did a search and came up blank. Anyone got a link to pictures of the Ingen CAI installation on the 04 TL?

Also, I saw somewhere that it's available in black or polished...Anyone seen the black version?

Wicked.

I have the black and it looks really, really good. If you PM me with your e-mail address, I will try to take pics today or tomorrow and show you what it looks like.

I believe JimtheGreek has pics of the black Injen somewhere on here.

What is that thing suppose to do?

How much does it cost?

Does it void the warranty?

That allows the car to breath cooler air more effeciently. At peak RPMs it increases horsepower by up to 12.

It costs ~ $225-250

No aftermarket part voids the warranty unless it is proven to be the exact cause of the problem/failure that you are trying to claim as a warranty issue.

Thank you sir.

After I wrote that I thought, someone is going to call me a dumbass for not knowing what a Ingen CAI is.

But that did not happen. You treated me with courtsey and respect and I thank you for that.

Seems like a good investment for those who want max power at high revs.

Thanks again.

Does the bumper have to be removed for installation?

Just cause everyone might not know and I am not sure

When using the injen you remove the black "silencer" box on the stock intake
In some cars this dramatically increases to loudness of the car during acceleration
what is your experience?

Yes it does....I tried to do the install w/o removal, but it is 100% necessary.

How difficult is it? Did you jack-up the front for easier access?

]

The car remains quiet throughout acceleration unless you go full throttle. In that case, as the RPMs rise into the 4K range, a nice growl is emitted. It is not obnoxious and not cheap sounding. During normal acceleration, there is a bit of a whistle sound...similar to the sound from a turbo as it spools. Again, its not loud at all.

Yes...you need to buy a bypass valve. I did not do it for myself, but others who have installed CAIs on this forum have done it. Hopefully they will come across this thread.

I did jack up both sides for easier access to the clips underneath. If you are familiar with basic engine modifications for cars, you should be able to install no problem. The bumper is not the easiest to remove...the hardest part is on the corners of the bumper. The clips there hold really tight, and you really have to muscle the bumper off. The bumper is really, really easy to pop back on though.
