Pics of new Anthracite/Ebony/Nav (Large File)

Here are pics of my new TL (picked up on 2/27) Anthracite/Ebony/Nav with Micheline Pilot Sport AS Tires.
I love this car! It drives and handles awesome (even better with these tires!!) I am continually amazed every time I get inside with the quality of the interior. It is such a sporty cockpit. I've always had tan leather interiors and thought I would miss the "luxory" feel of tan leather and wood, but I wanted a change and the ebony, I feel, makes the car much sportier. Enjoy the pics.

Congrats! Nice color

How are you liking the Pilot Sport AS tires? Can you comment on the difference from stock?

nice pics. take off the dealer spam plates though and get some better rims. 'luxory' is not a word. sorry for nit picking. the michelin tires are pretty nice but since I only have 260 miles on mine I havent yet 'tested' hint hint them.

Hey digital, are you always such a jerk? I've had my car a few days and you bag on my plates, rims, and point out that I had a typo. Get a life.

SSH, there is no comparison between the stock Bridgestones and the Pilots. They are so much smoother and also handle and corner a lot better. On this car, it was definitely worth the small, extra expense. (Discount tire gave me a trade-in for the stock tires so it wasn't too bad)

Hey there congrats on the new car. I see you got yours from Downy Acura on 2/27. I bought my TL exactly like yours on 2/25 from downy. They were calling our cars the twins on the lot. Small world to run into to you here. I added the body kit, deck lid spoiler and the moon roof visor. It really adds a much sportier look to the car. I'll take some pics so you can check out. Well congrats again and hope to see you rolling around town. (I can't wait for it to stop rainning here.)

Hey Fee, I thought about the spoiler, so I'd love to see your pics. I think I might change my wheels first, something either gun-metal or chrome. I had a deposits at 2 other orange county dealers closer to my home but got an email last week from Downy saying that the person who was getting this car failed his credit check and backed out. His loss was my gain! Looking forward to seeing your pics.

I was also thinking about changing my wheels and having them chromed. I hear that they actually do it at downey for a reasonable price. I was planning on checking it out. Did you have a good experience with the salesmen? I dealt with Walter Medrano (fleet/internet manager) It was the best car buying experience I've ever had. I definatly will go back to him for anything i need in the future...

I thought I wanted the silver. When I saw it at night under the dealership lights I thought the silver looked awesome, but when I saw it in the daylight a few times, I thought it looked a little too plain and I was afraid that I'd be tired of it too fast. The Anthracite is a really deep, sparkling color in sun light so it's a great color here in CA where it's sunny most of the time. I definitely wouldn't pick Anthracite if I lived somewhere where it was cloudy all of the time.

Not trying to be a **** here, but why did you post the pics? It's just a stock TL. I can just go to the Acura website. Seriously not trying to be a ****, just don't understand the pics of a stock car.

Black Velvet, you obviously haven't been on this site for very long. We all love seeing the pics and it's not the same as seeing the professional ones on Acura's website. Seeing the different colors in "real life" helps a lot of people make up their minds. It did for me. Go look at all the posts of "stock" TL pics and you'll see most people's responses are nice, and congratulatory!!!

P.S, not everything is stock either, those aren't Turanzas wrapped around my wheels.

abwolf13,

Nice ride, man! I have that exact same car coming in at the end of the month. I'm considering the deck lid spoiler, and a tint for sure. Do the Pilot tires really improve the ride that much?? What don't you like about the Turanzas?

Hi 'X',
Yes, the pilots really do make that much of a difference. My 95 Acura came with Michelins and my 01 Infiniti came with Eagles so I never realized what bad tires were like until the Turanzas. I had all of the problems that you read about in this forum. There was a vibration when the car was between 50 and 60 MPH. Some people say they don't have that problem but I suspect that they just don't realize what it is or that it's the tires. There was also some flatspotting in the mornings (slight "thumping") that would last about 5 minutes. These problems all went away with the Pilots plus the car handles better and I know that there will be a big difference in bad weather too. The pilot's rain performance is rated extremely high and the Turanzas extremely low. Discount tire gave me a $62 per tire trade in and I just figured if I'm going to own this nice of a car for 4 or 5 years, spending a few extra hundred bucks was definitely worth it.

abwolf13, I'm glad you posted pictures of your "stock" TL. I also enjoy seeing other people's car's, and not just looking on the Acura website like Black Velvet sugested. I ordered the same color exterior, ebony interior, navi, 6speed, hi-performance tires that you have, and I've enjoyed looking at your pictures in anticipation of getting my car soon. The pictures are very nice, and your car is awesome. Thanks for the pictures.

I like that first image on your Navi screen that says...

No Doubt
Hella Good

Sure is.... hehe

Oh, BTW, I own a NBP/ebony/Navi 5AT.

I should have gone with the manual, but for practical reasons went with the auto.

abwolf13,

Nice pictures! I had Pilot AS tires on my 2002 Type S and they were out freaking standing! How did you work the deal for the tires? Did they credit you for the stock tires? I may end up doing the same thing if I can.

Thanks

I went to discount tire and they gave me a $65 per tire credit for the Bridgestones. This car rides soooo much better with the Pilots!

You have to love that Anthracite, beautiful colour that we don't get up here unless you get a 6 MT.

Exactly. I live in AA, MI where it's overcast here a lot so I passed on the Anthracite/Ebony combo and went instead with SSM/Ebony.

Great choice though for where you live. Congrats!

BTW, what size Pilot's did you put on? I myself put on 245/45/17 gForce KDW's. Bumped to 245 but kept it at 45 on purpose because 40's would have made the tire too thin. Unlike most, I don't like it when the tire is too low prfile and thin.

(and I too love seeing pics of any kind, even 'stock')

Hey Abwolf !

Your 1st interior pic seems to show an intentional crease/line running down the center of your drivers seat bottom. Is it really there or some type of reflection ?

Thanks for the tire info. I'm getting a free set of replacement stocks next week and will look into trading them while they're new. Can you tell us the exact specs/measurements of your replacement Pilots ?

Thanks,

Jester

I got the pilots in the exact same size as the stock bridgestones. I wasn't sure if the Nav would stay acurate if I changed the size in any way.
