I think it looks better without lowering. You don't want less gap above the wheel as to the sides of it.

I think they look smaller 'cause of the angle. Here's my 19's on another cloudy socal day. I'm definately getting springs as soon as someone makes matching shocks for 'em.

Skeedatl if you are waiting for a good spring shock sombo why not get some Teins?? Pretty sure they already released a set up for the TL...my friend just got them on his 03 CL and they are fantastic. Pricey, but of the highest quality

Ride quality with bigger rims?

How's the ride quality with the bigger rims? Harsh? Those look pretty sweet...and BTW,your car is pretty clean for being dirty!

Same here..

I have 245/35 Falken SP 115 and I might even goes as far as to say the ride is better..definately not more harsh..but the car isn't lowered either so we'll see

the tires are SUPER quiet...

1 spec of dust or dirt is dirty to me..

I drive where there are a lot of gravel trucks...without the nose mask I get chips. As for rice...I just looked over the threads you've been in and I don't see what you're talking about dumbass. What, you planning on 25LBs of vinyl stickers, blue dome lights, NAAAAAWWWWWSSSSSSSS, a shopping cart wing or something else just as stupid?

And 19" wheels are oh so rice? What are you? Retarded?

After looking back some more...you must be talking about the RL thread where I was calling my buddy Swat Dude a Ricer for painting his calipers...before YOU opened your dumbass yap with a nice non-sequitur, which I ignored.

Here's the whole quote to Swat Dude stupidass...about the fourth post between him and me about painting calipers.

"RICER!!!!!!!! You painted your calipers? Oh no...you're on the slippery slope to shopping cart wings and pants that don't fit!

Somebody save this guy from himself !"

Then you're retarded reply to a post not even directed at you...

"i'm no "ricer" but am friends with a few and at least they do their own work. all i hear you guys saying is "my dealer did this, my dealer says that, my dealer won't do it for me". wah wah wah. at least "ricers" can change their own oil and fill their own fluids. "

I wasn't talking to you, couldn't care less about you...don't give two squirts of piss what you and your buddies do. Then after I continue ignoring you, you call me a loser. You are completely retarded. Actually READ the thread and use your brain before you type.

To those wondering what this is about...here's the thread page.

Is it my imagination or does it look like in the 2nd picture from the top there is an arrow? That's not the direction arrow is it, it looks similar to the ones on my Falkens? If so it looks like the wheel is on the wrong side of the car (wrong direction).

He's running 35's, that's pretty low and at 19" is very close to the OEM 17" diameter. Someone else on the board is running 40's and hasn't experienced rubbing.

you could definitely lower it. with the right springs you will hardly feel the difference in ride quality.
I was apprehensive myself at first but after doing it,it only enhances the vehicle and not in a bad way. Whats good is that the average person doesn't even know it's lowered. that's when you know it looks right.

See, those look way bigger than mine even though they're the same diameter adn same tire. The 1" drop make a big difference.

I like all the rims of the three cars but you guys have to drop the car 11/2 to 2inch to take the ugly gap away. It looks weird to see a nice car w/nice rims and not lowered the car. Post some pics dude once you get them lowered. Haha....I would go for 2inch lowering. It would look very slick and sweet!!!! I can't wait to lower mines!! :p :p :p

I have to agree with Ed on this. I was in the same situation. I went with Eibach and the ride improved in some ways due to the progessive springs. 2 inches might be too much but 1.5 inches will sit very nice.

By the way Ed, love the wheels, do you plan on getting the kit? I think it would set off the wheels nice due to the angles the kit brings out in the car.

I'm leaning towards H/R springs, had them in the past.. they are of the highest quality.
I measured the gap after the 19's and it's like 2.5-3 inches...

so I'll be going with H/R 1.75" race springs...

1- 1.3 isnt going to cut it..

I saw eibachs website listed theirs at 1" to for their pro-kit along with Comptech..

I like H/R better than Eibach anyways..so no Eibach sportlines..

1" is DEFINATELY not going to be enough after careful measuring

I'm waiting for matching shocks to come out. Teins are currently still under development according to their website. When they're available I get to it. Their site shows a nominal drop of 1.7" (but like most Teins are adjustable) which would probably be close to perfect for me. F 12mm/671lbs
SB120-01200 R 6mm/335lbs SG060-01250

I would go w/HR racing springs too. Aren't they coming out with 2 1/4 inch lowering spring. I know it might be too much for most of you but I like to get rid of the gap totally. With the lower ride, the car will corner even better and stiffer too. Once you have your car lowered in your previous car it is not the same without it in terms of looks and performance. Thats is why I think everyone who buys rims should lower the car at least 1 inch. I think they go hand to hand and makes it the best of both worlds in looks and performance.
