My 04 6speed apsec TL is finally ready to be picked up. Never owned a TL before.. and im brand new to this board so i have a few questions


so i've read my model has 3rd gear issues..or has. I drove the car once but didnt notice any rough entrances into 3rd.. is there something specific i should look for today when I pick it up and take it home? And does this problem apply to both CDN and US cars?

Also, any other "hidden" problems dealerships forget to notice that i should inspect before leaving the lot today?

before you accept it, take it to a private mechanic who will put it on the lift to check for any crash damage, repaired or not~
Carefully inspect the doors and panel fit and paint job---signs of accident repairs

Also have the brakes-tires-general look over done
pay for an hour of the techs time, and go back and negotiate for new brake pads or whatever it may need at dealer

Acuras presale checklist is pretty flimsy

Have the cabin air filter changed by dealer as part of presale agreements

read the thread on the 3rd gear issue so you can drive it again and really look for symptoms- also print out list of symptoms and give to the inspecting tech to look for.
The tech has driven thousands of cars- let him drive this one too

if you are canada-call acura canada and ask about the trans warranty

Dont sign anything till you are happy with the car!!
Examine the car fully inside and out in broad daylight or bright shoplights
Darkness is the dealers friend-not yours!
Any slight defect-chip in glass as example,, that you dont see today- they will say you caused it tomorrow~

Just what he said and get all of those done. Will this be from a Acura dealership? Is it Certified so you get the extra warranty? Just make sure there are no problems with car by bringing it to a trusted personal mechanic (if you have one). Good luck in your purchase and...
