Picking it up

Wondering if there is anything specific I should ask the dealer about when I pick up my new TL. Does the dealer activate the XM or do I have to do something to get the three months? Should be in next week. I read some of the comments about breakin. Is there anything in particular that should stop me from putting 800 miles on it in the first week or should I take it a little slower.

xm is on by default, you need to do nothing. drive drive & drive, don't kill it. i prefer to use a 5-5-5 oil/filter change for break-in, 500 1000 & 1500 mile change and at 1500 switch to full synth oil and a better WIX filter.

Ask the dealer to get you acquinted with all the features...there's a whole bunch of things in the TL you can play with. XM Radio comes set out of the lot. As far as break-in...I'm still in my break-in period and have been reading some material on it. So far I've read it doesn't really matter how fast you put miles on the car as long as you don't floor it or do any hardcore acceleration. The manual recommends nothing before the 600 mile point. Also for brakes...no hard breaking until 200 mile point. I'm sure I'm wrong and the REAL TL enthusiast veterans will correct me.

Make sure you look over your car thoroughly. Look over it 5 times if you have to.
