Picked it up yesterday

I picked up my SSM/ebony 6MT/Nav yesterday and have been smiling ever since. I have owned over 20 cars, and this one is by far the best. My '02 Audi was not half the car this one is. It seems to be perfectly tight and is one of the only cars I've ever purchased new with NO defects from the factory.

I haven't pressed it yet, but when 600 miles hits, you can bet I will. Still, it has very impressive power, and I haven't noticed a hint of torque steer yet (even in the rain).

I am incredibly impressed by the technology, but not really by the DVD audio (mind you, I've only heard the demo disc). Maybe one of you can enlighten me on what the best settings are to really enjoy it. I was also considering adding my Infinity Basslink from my previous car, but I think it might not help it much.

I ordered the lip spolier from Ebay today and got a Motorola V710. I love being able to make a call with the phone in my pocket.

Any little tips you can give a noob would be appreciated

Thanks!

that's awesome, congrats on your car!

just heads up, you will feel the torque steer with the 6MT once you start pushing it. how are you liking the clutch? i'm surprised you didn't comment on it.

bt is great, especially for 6MT. i used to hate making a turn while on the phone... turn, shift, hold the phone, ugh.

someone posted that it's better to change the L/R speaker balance a little to the right - this might work for you. i just have the center on +2, bass on +3, sub +3, treb +1. too bad there's no mid control.

Congrats on your new car. I should be picking mine up this weekend if all goes well. I can't wait to get a call in the car now because I can answer a call without having to reach in my pocket to answer it. I specifically bought my Motorola V600 when it first came out for the TL. And this was like a year and a half ago before I could even finally own the TL!

The clutch seems fine to me. I'm a bit jerky, but I'm still getting used to it. Are others complaining about it?

only about getting used to it at first... especially about the 1st to 2nd shift being jerky.

but once you get the feel of it, it's smooooooooth.

Cool

Congrats! I have the same setup plus A-Spec. Here's a pic if you want to go the rest of the way!

I definitely want to do at least the A-Spec wheels...are they only gunmetal or silver? I thought I had seen another, shinier finish as well.

BG74 -- The '04 model came out with the gunmetal color and was 8.5" rims. I understand on '05 they went to an 8" A-Spec rim. The gunmetal color was discontinued as well and, yes, it's a shinier dark gray wheel. There is one thread showing the '05 A-Spec wheels https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...light=gunmetal and then there are other threads you can search on to give you more info if needed.
