Philly Dealers

Hey, I'll be moving to Philly in a few weeks and the closest dealers to me will be Sussman Acura, Elite Acura and Metro Acura. Anybody know if I should avoid any of these guys?

I work at Elite Acura. Bring your car in for service anytime. The Service Managers name is Rich Ritter. We have 3 of the best service writers I've ever come accrossed all have been in the buisness for 10 years or more. Tell Rich that I (Dave Whittingham) sent you. Good luck to you.

Whatever you do... DO NOT GO TO METRO ACURA!!! I just purchased my 07 TL from them on 9/04/07 and I'm still trying to fix the paperwork errors that they made. They are very rude and unprofessional. I would never purchase from them again. Try Sussman Acura in Jekintown, I purchased my 2 previous cars from them and had no problems. Don't ask me why I didn't go back there...

I second that. Metro acura sucks, and ardmore acura is even better...they tried to sell me a tl with a rip in the a pillar saying that it would be fixed when i picked up the car (it wasn't) and the salespeople tried to convince me that the reason one of the headlights was pink is because they all come from the factory like that and that the passenger side was pink so as not to blind other drivers. WTF!? So I told them to change the bulb out as that is just not true and the bulb is dying, and they refused. Montgomeryville and Sussman FTW!!! west chester is good to, but I have only had exp wih them as far as service.

I wish I would've asked this question before my purchase.... Where should I start?
1. They installed the front plate on the car after I first did my test drive and tried to convince me it was there from the start.

2. They tried to make me pay for wheel locks for the car even though every other car on the lot came with them.

3. I had to go back in 3 weeks after purchasing the car b/c they messed up on my original app and I had to do a new one. And then a few days later I had to go back and give them my 1st payment early b/c my AHFC account would not be set up in time for the pymt to post.

4. I purchased the car on 9/04/07... and today is 10/05/07 and b/c of their paper work snafu, I still haven't been able to register my vehicle. The title clerk also "forgot" to send my doc fee and sales tax check to the Delaware DMV (the car has to be registered in Delaware). This caused me to waste a day off from work. When I called back to the dealership about the missing check, the General Mgr's response to me was "Its after 5 and the title clerk has left, what do you want me to do?" What really pissed me off about this was that I called the title clerk before I went to the DMV. She advised me that the check and all my paperwork was sent and everything was ready to go.

All in all I love my car... but I definately hate the dealer. I'll will never step foot in that dealership again. I work in NJ right off 38... more than likely I'll be using Elite Acura for my services!!!

If the car has not been registered yet, you may be able to turn the car back in to the dealership. Then go and buy the car from a more reputable dealer. The original dealer will be left with an untitled car with miles on it!

They ended up giving me the plugs after I flipped out on them, they were gonna actually try to charge me $22 a piece for something that was supposed to come with the car. You can't even tell now...

I bought my Type S at Montgomeryville a couple of weeks ago. I was happy with the buying experience there. I obviously have not had it in for service yet, so I can't comment on that.

I can share another horror story with Sussman, although it was with their Mazda dealer, not the Acura.

Problem #1. I bought a 2005 Tribute S. After we were done all of the paperwork, I went out for a final inspection of the vehicle. They had the window sticker laying on the back seat. I picked it up and it was hiding a 2-3 inch tear in the leather. Obviously I wasn't happy. I told them to replace it. They said they would fix it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They had 2 different guys come out to fix it and it looked just horrible. I raised a stink and they eventually replaced it.

Problem #2. They offer free inspection for life, but you pay emissions. This to me is a scam to get your car into service. I took it there once for the inspection (car less than 2 years old) and they called me saying it needed ~ $950 in work to pass. When I started complaining, the service guy actually started dealing with me to get the price down to ~ $850.

I'll never go back there again.

Beware of Ardmore Acura. The scraped my front wheel well during a service call and wouldn't admit to it. They said I did it and threw me some touch up paint. I complained to the GM there but nothing happened. I wouldn't recommend them for service.

Montgomeryville Acura is better (at least I have not had a problem there yet).

Good luck and welcome to Philly!!

ardmore acura are a bunch of snobs that didn't want to wait on me, or help me get a car. I guess i looked to young to be buying an acura TL metro acura isn't much better. i go to westchester acura for al my service.. They are 45mins away from my house but well worth the drive. ..

well, after all this being said, i SO FAR, have had a good experience at metro.
i have been there for all my service since buying the car. i think they now know how picky i am and have stopped asking me for that horrible car wash. i always talk with the guy who is doing work on my car first,,,, i also make sure my car has been just washed and vacuumed b4 going,,,,,this way,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i feel that if my car goes in clean and tight, they MAY take better care of it. just my way of feeling better i guess,
\
no real problems as of yet......nobody is as gentle on our cars as we are. . . . . if you want something done right and handeled w care then you need to do it urself..............
i think life is full of imperfections and people make small mistakes,,,,,,its ashame,,,,but unfortunately,,,,, thats the way society is these days.... everyone is tryiing to make a buck, get done quickly,,,,,,if its not mind who cares,,,,type deal.........

is there anyone out there who has no imperfections, sratches, swirl marks, no folds in leather etc on their tl? i guess when i first bought it......but after 2 years,, something is bound to happen i guess... sorry for the vent,,,,,
good luck to the philly tl-ers .......\
enjoy the rest of your day!
