As in my avatar I have a labrador whom is not just a pet but a member of my family, Chico is his name and can say that as much as I love him, he has never set a paw inside my TL, I take him places in the Odyssey which is "wifey's" ride.
The Ody has leather seats as well but he has never scratched or torn them with his nails, he just leaves his share of hair all over the rear seats and carpet.
Do you take your"pets" in the TL or have a second vehicle to take him/ her for rides , vets, etc..

my parents have a tiny lil 15 lb shih-tzu. He gets to ride in any car he likes: Either of the two E classes when he's at my parents, or when he comes to visit Jersey, my TL.
He rarely sheds, so the only thing that botters me is when he sneezes all over my windows. Then I have to clean them.

IMO, people who take their pets in their car, are really dirty. I mean the people who let their dog lick their face after they lick their asshole, that is really sick, or when they let their dog lick thier forks, spoons... People that let their dog walk all over them, or sit in their lap when driving need to be shot, as well as people who read the news paper while driving, IT IS A DISTRACTION.
I have no pets in my car or my house.

As for the distraction, anyone who drives doing anything other than driving, doesn't deserve to drive. You shouldn't be on the phone (i absolutely HATE that), or shaving, or putting on makeup, or looking for a CD in the back of their car, or anything of the sort.
ok i'm done ranting

My dogs ride in a 98 Accord. I won't let them ride in the TL because I fear their nails will puncture the leather. However if there is ever an emergency, I would have no problem taking them in the TL.

By the way, yes, she sheds, but the hair is easy to clean. Also, we generally use a harness for her that attaches to the center seat buckle in the back, so she won't get thrown in an accident or short stop.
Our brown standard poodle enjoys the TL. A dark gray full-length bath towel that can be removed and washed covers the graphite leather. She doesn't shed but she likes to hike and occasionally gets wet/dirty.

Oh yeah - there are plenty of people out there who are licking each others assholes too - think about that the next time you are kissing some girl you just met .

I take total offence to this .. My dog rides in my car and it doesn't make me or anyone with a cared for dog a dirty person. Mine is trained to be in the back seat on the blanket or on the towel on the armrest while the car is started. She can sit on my lap when we are stopped and the car is off.
And I'll tell you I'd let a dog lick my face a lot sooner than a lot of people, male and female, that I have seen in this world and I'm not speaking of people of poverty either.
I do agree with you on the destraction part if the dog is allowed free roam of the car.
She has ridden in the cars I have had since she was a baby and I show the cars and many will atest that there is fewer cars around cleaner than mine.
Most of the dirty cars belong to people who take the dgs for swims or runs in the woods then let the dog in the car and never clean the car. These cars will be dirty .. dog or no dog.
Me personally if I had a dog I would never let it ride in my car unless I had a truck or SUV. I want a dog even and I have let dogs lick my face before but I try to avoid it. Its gross to let a dog sit on your car. This sounds ridiculous but no one ever wipes their dog's ass. They may bathe their dog weekly or so but still. Would you go a week without showering and wiping your ass after doing your business and then sit in your car butt-naked?
Don't get me wrong I want a dog and I probably won't go to extreme measures to keep my dog clean, but still it makes you think twice.

Bennie and Sara both ride in the TL. We do have a sling type device that goes over the head rests and covers the back seat. They are both excellent travlers. KC to Tampa every December.
Bennie is a Toy Rat Terrier type B (short legs) and weighs 9 lbs.
Sara is a Toy Fox Terrier and weighs 5 lbs.
Of course both think they are 150 Pit Bulls.

Unless you wash your dog at least once a week I wouldnt consider it "dirty".. Up here I live in the woods, so dogs roll around in Deer Shit as well as eat it. This is my personal views, if you or anyone else would like to argue, please make a thread in OT and I would be more than glad to argue

I do not know what planet you live on, but it must be in a different galaxy. I never said that dogs have dirt or contain dirt, I said some people are dirty. I ment in a sense that SHIT (IE: poop, dung manure, droppings, cow pats, golden apples, guano, humus, manure, peat moss, potash, road apples) or what ever you may call it, is what dogs eat and have all over their ass. So unless you wipe your dogs shit encrusted ass after taking a dump, then you must love the aroma, or even the slight brown discoloration on your good clothing. Studies? You are soo full of shit, your eyes are brown. As far as licking assholes , what ever turns you on
, then more power to you. And stay away from stinky pinkies. This is my personal views, if you or anyone else would like to argue, please make a thread in OT and I would be more than glad to argue

The human species has adapted over tens of thousands of years to live in and deal with - yes - dirt. There are actually studies out that show that people who do not expose themselves to dirt, infections, and disease when they are young actually end up being more unhealthy when they get older because their bodies do not develop the immunities and antibodies it needs to deal with the inevitable exposures to all the bacteria and whatnot this planet has to offer.

my cat does go in the TL but *only* in her cat carrier, and even that sits on a blanket that fully covers the chair. My cat has claws and sheds..I won't take any chances in my TL if I have to bring her anywhere...!!
Haven't personally tried it, but I have looked at Pets Smart's Luxuary Car Seat Cover by Bowser. Here's a quote from the site:
This versatile cover is designed to fit all vans, trucks, SUV's and mid-size sedans with bench or fold-down rear seats. High quality fabric has a soft, suede-like feel your pet will love. Finished seams with contrasting trim give it a great look. Protects your vehicle's upholstery from pet hair, stains, odors and snags from toenails. Easy care, just machine wash and dry on cool setting. 54" Lx18" W (seat)x17" W (back).

I have 6 Pomeranians, 2 dachshunds, 1 golden retriever, 1 black labs, 4 pit bulls, and 1 mutt. They all ride in the car. I also have 4 cats which have all been in the car. I have 2 lizards and 2 tortoises which have also been in the car. Also I have 3 baby goats which have been in the car but only 4 times. I have 9 birds and 5 of them have been loose in the car. As for the answer to your question - ABSOLUTLEY I let my pets in my car.
My 10 lb mini dachshund rides in my car. She sheds, but I just vacuum, big deal. Only thing that sucks is her snout on my windows, then I have to clean it, but I love her. No biggie for me!

I couldn't agree more. Alot of dogs are much cleaner than 75% of humans!
Besides, people eat asshole (jelly or surup?) then kiss eachother ... I don't see you not letting people ride in the car! I never had a problem putting my german shepherd in the TL. He was very well behaved.

Do you own a dog?
And I like the new avatar a little better than the old one.
