Question Performance guys

how fast do you drive your TL? and how often do you drive at high speeds? i know some here take there TLs to the track but how often is that?

personly i dont drive fast anymore, (not what I consider fast) when i was in Italy and could get away with it i drove my car 100+ daily, and if you are thinking about the nice straight well kept autobaun in germany Italy is the complete opposite nothing but holes, twisties, no gaurdrails, 100ft cliffs, people 4 accross on a 2 lane road, driving into oncomming traffic, blind turns, you get the idea

I never felt the TL performance really needed and improvement for "real world" driving although some quicker acceleration would be nice...

Mine is on the track about once a month and thats it, in the garage other than that. Push the TL and you'll know what it needs.

does it count as a lesson ? I drive fast almost all the time but my car still stock. To be honest, I think it's more about addicting than "do the car need that performance or not".
Just like will you want to improve your Lamborghini performance ( if you have one )

TL is a little scary well into the triple digits.

I hit 125 the night I bought it(just to make sure it was working right ) and it felt very good, like I was driving on glass. That is'nt the fastest I have gone by a long shot tho. My dad used to have a 1993 NSX that he had some bolt-ons and with the traction control off(disables governor) I hit 165 on the freeway. Crazy thing is it still had a lot to go.

the car feels very safe at 100mph IMO. rides so smooth and my passengers cant even tell its 100. if you're used to riding a bimmer then maybe u think the tl isnt safe at 100 but im not one of those guys

I take turn 1 at BIR (fastest corner in North America) at around 130mph on every lap and never felt "unstable" or "floaty". But again, I'm non-typical lol

too fast

I got a speeding ticket 2 weeks ago for 98 in a 65... so I'm slowing down from now on. The $1000 isn't worth driving fast.

Just to make sure it works!! right lol...
the TL to me feels planted, its the breaks at times that scare me, unlike those with bbk prolly wont have a problem with that.
Now if comparing to the 335i then yea it feels a bit unstable,

the fix: get a type S or a type S steering rack for your none type S IMO...

. When your tires aren't aligned properly/ bad wear and off balance, you get a shutter at around 80mph and it gets worse. The steering wheel shakes and so on, so.....get your maintenance game up.

i've hit 130 on the way to vegas, and from what i remember she felt stable and i'm sure i could've gone faster. I only did it to test out the atlp j-pipe/hi-flow cat combo. i might do it again after i get Richie's HFPCs and UR pulley installed
