Perforated Leather Interior

Hello all,

I have a 2005 TL with the darker/more rust tan leather interior and a couple months ago I found a tear in my drivers seat. As time went on, it obviously got bigger and bigger. I had 2 different repairmen come out to my house and look at it both of them telling me the same thing. That they did not want to do the repair simply because they didn't want to come back in 1 month and repair another tear.

So, my question is does anyone know of any recalls, or anything that could help me out? If not are there any websites that sell the same product as this? I would prefer to replace the interior seat skins as opposed to repairing. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

cheap fix: car seat covers

alternative: go to an auto interior upholstery shop and have them fix it.

otherwise, find an entire seat at your local junkyard and replace seats.

Welcome. As the lusty Batman (DaeHanMeenGuk) said, take it to an auto upholstery repair shop if there's one around. They'll take care of you. That would be cheaper than getting new seats I would think.

When I bought my TL-S a year ago, there was a large crack/tear due to leather seat subjected to the sun for a few years (previous owner didn't have tint) The salesman selling it to me told me that his leather guy was going to try to fix it for me. When I went to pick up my car a week later, he told me it wasn't worth fixing because it would not come out the same so they replaced the entire piece of leather for me. Good luck!

I have black interior and my little cousin made a tear on the front middle portion of the passenger seat. I called around and everywhere I went they wanted to charge me $300-$450 just to replace the front little panel. I thought they were out of their mind. I went on Yelp and found a few cheap places and called around. In the end I found a guy who quoted me 150 for the front portion and 200 for the entire middle section (3 panels). To make it look cleaner I replaced the entire middle section. It turned out great and matches pretty close to stock. Only difference is it is not as shinny as the old leather but still no one can tell the difference. Even I have a hard time seeing it. If you are in So Cali, I can give you his number, name, and location. great guy. It took him about 2 hours and I was out of the place before 10AM. Father and son location.

If they appear shiny, its time you cleaned your seats. The leather should be a matte appearance, so give your seats a good cleaning then it should match with the new leather.

Thats why black interiors do not do it for me as they get shiny very quickly with dirt and body oils. Where are they located? I live in SoCal too and I have minor wear on the vinyl side bolsters on my driver's seat due to the seat belt.
