People are so ignorant

seeing other forums ive realized that none of the other cars take the TL as a serious competitor preformance wise. Mainly G35 coupes little do they know our cars can keep up. the ultimate sleeper.(How would an auto Tl do against a auto G35 coupe)

Everyone is arrogant in some form or another...
Did you buy your vehicle to gain respect? Or to enjoy it?
I bought mine to enjoy it. I don't really care what people say about it. And, the auto G would beat us, but only by about .2 secs in the 1/4 mile.

There's no need to compete. I'm happy with my car, I don't need their approval. Do you?

If you wanted to race in the Gran Prix du "stoplight" - then you bought the wrong car. Enjoy your vehicle for what it is - a really nice car with a buttload of amenities and decent performance!

If I feel like going out to whoop a 'lil @ss. I drive my supercharged Mustang. 425RWHP and straight pipes. I enjoy that car for what it is - an extremely fast piece of rattling, giggling, plastic, American made $hit. It sure is fast and LOUD though. When I rev it, it sounds like the first row at Daytona! When I launch hard, I swear the earth spins a little faster.

But I cant wait till my Red TL comes in MAY!!!!!!!

I got my 5AT ass handed to me by a G35 coupe, what would be at least 5 cars at the 1/4. We came from a stop light and both cut good lights. He had me by a car before I knew it and just slowly kept going. The 350Z based coupes are all pretty quick. They're torquey for a 6 cylinder. If we started from a roll and I got the move it would have been closer, but even closer would mean me only getting my ass kicked a little.

You have to have a lot more than a blower to put 425HP to the ground in a Mustang.

No head work...and 425RWHP? Did you actually put that setup on a chassis dyno or are you guessing? That's a lot of power from an S-Trim.

I'd say it's a wishtamate. Unless, Skeedatl, the Cobra parts add another 100 horsies.

Well, my blown Stang made 418 on the dyno... oh wait, that was the stroked-n-blown one.

Now I remember, it was 527 on the dyno... no, no, that was the big block 460 swap.

LOL!!!!

Don't blow a gasket (oops, I made a funny), I'm just playing.

But I'm with Skeedatl, 425 without head work is fishy. I'm sure the S-trim is capable of that, but that engine won't last long with that kind of strain. Don't blow a gasket now, really get a good set of gaskets.

My 5-0 did about 300 (about as it never saw a dyno) on the motor with Windsor Jrs, Pro-M, Crane Interceptor, 24LB injectors, 75mm TB, MAC shorties and an E303 (cause of Cali smog laws). The weekly tranny swaps got me down. I quit after the 4th T-5 and bought a GN instead of a Tremec The T-5 has to be the worst trans ever made. I even broke it on radials. Wish I had a blower...but my wallet was kept empty by broken trannys. Now I'm much happier (and faster) with my turbo.

Sorry to bring this stupid thread back but that was my bad-
I typed RWHP when I ment HP - I dynoed at 363.25RWHP and 343.4TRQ. (given a ~15% drivetrain loss, I should have ballpark 425)
Yes I know I am living on borrowed time with my stock heads and bottom end. However - the guy who did my tune at Silver State Performance did an amazing job! This car is not my daily driver so when my motor grenades eventually, It' will have to sit in my garage untill I can save up for a crate motor.

My tranny is the crapola T-45 (it is virtually the same as the T-5) but believe it or not It has held up pretty well for 11k supercharged miles. My crappy 8" rear end is the weak link in the chain and I expect it to blow any time now.

It doesn't make any difference what kind of car you have, someone will always have one faster.

No, you've met your thread derailing quota this week. You'll have to wait 'till Monday.

That doesn't prove anything. just because the g35 driver was driving slow doesn't mean it's any less stable in the snow. But what your comment does say is that you were most likely driving too fast for the conditions.

it was mostly slush dude. i am just saying this because i came off a bmw and its rear wheel drive. i would have spun out easily in that car. i actually like the g35, almost bought the coupe but because of weather i for the TL instead(i am very happy as a result). i was just trying to be funny because people complain about fwd, torque steer and all that "nice" stuff about the TL. believe me 50 wasn't fast cause cars were wizzing by me. the TL believe it or not is pretty stable in the snow.
